We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Shumulinsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
From the beginning, I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I grew up with two business-owner parents, both immigrants from Kiev, Ukraine, who ran a tailor shop and travel agency. You could say running a business is in my blood! I always loved the idea of being my own boss. I’m a double Leo (Sun/Moon) and am fiery, passionate, and love blazing my own path – though my career did not start that way.
I went to The Ohio State University for a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration. I had always wanted help people and healthcare was a great place to do that. After a successful decade in hospital and nonprofit healthcare business and strategy, a few things in my life began to fall away, including a long-term relationship as well as my passion for the work that I was doing. I knew it was time to make a big change in my career.
In 2020, I took myself on an intense self-discovery journey. That was when I began to find my authentic path through energy healing, meditation, and a newfound spiritual practice. Energy healing had always been a part of my life as my father would work with his hands to heal my family when we had ailments or injuries. I decided to get trained in Reiki, a type of energy healing that originated from Japan, and shortly after I began seeing clients for a mix of empowerment coaching and energy healing. I started teaching workshops for corporate women on personal energy and self-care modalities that I practiced in my own life.
The name of my business, InYours, came to me in a vivid dream. A few months after establishing InYours, I left my safe, established career to become an entrepreneur to help people in a way that called to me. I wouldn’t call it much of a thought process, rather I was guided by my intuition and listened to my soul’s calling, and haven’t looked back.
So here we are! I’m growing my business and helping my fiancé establish his business as well in the budding psychedelic medicine industry here in Colorado.
What should our readers know about your business?
I lead people to their inner power by focusing on three pillars: Self-Care, Intuitive Development, and Energetic Mastery. I offer private mentorship, a monthly membership program, retreats, virtual workshops and group experiences. I have over a decade of experience in corporate strategy and business development. Combined with my intuitive and psychic gifts, I now inspire my clients to live in connection with intuition, freeing themselves from limiting beliefs so they can make a difference in the world and come into remembrance of their purpose.
I overcome challenges every day in my business, the biggest being the shift I’ve had to make has been from being an employee and direction-taker to becoming a CEO that paves my own path and works toward my own vision. I could let the limiting beliefs and fears of my mind take the reins. I could let people out there tell me I can’t do it or that it’s too risky. I could let society tell me what my value is in the world. I’ve instead taken the unconventional route and made an intentional choice to freely share my light with the world. None of it has been easy but what has gotten me up again and again has been having a consistent, devoted self-care and spiritual practice.
I’ve personally witnessed several cycles of death and rebirth in my life. Through these experiences, I’ve gathered lifechanging skills, tools, and practices that bring me back to my center and remind me of my inner power. These are the tools and practices I share with my mentees, members, and community.
My business is intuitively-led and filled with purpose. I create safe spaces for people to be seen and heard as they move through major life milestones and spiritual expansions. The work we do is not for the faint of heart. The death and rebirth process can be messy, unsettling and pushes us to the edges of mind, body, and spirit. My business was created to light the path for people who are ready to step into more authentic, purposeful ways of living.
I’m leading my first retreat in Colorado in September and am excited to offer more of these transformative experiences for my clients moving forward.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend literally just came to town last week – so here is a preview of what we did!
We spent 3 nights at a cabin in Carbondale, soaked in wild hot springs, hiked to a massive waterfall, checked out a local mountain town festival, and held our own private plant medicine journey surrounded by incredible views the mountains during the day and the entire Milky Way at night. When we got back to the Boulder area, I took them to downtown Louisville for breakfast at Bob’s Diner and got bread and pastries from Moxie’s. We celebrated our birthdays at River and Wood, one of my favorite restaurants! I took them to Boulder Falls, hiked the Flatirons, got a drink at Avanti and walked around a small music festival on Pearl Street. We didn’t make it to Red Rocks this time but of course that is a must-do experience for anyone visiting!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be who I am or had the ability to make drastic shifts in my career without the love and support of my parents, Peter and Olga Shumulinsky. They helped me through college, encouraged me through graduate school and my career in healthcare, they gave me the seed funds I needed to buy a house which turned in to the investment I needed to start my business, and they cheered me along the entire way as I began to find my own path. My dad is a man of few words but the encouraging words he uses often is “Keep Goin’ Baby!” My parents sacrificed everything for our family, which I am so grateful for. I’m thankful to have them as supportive role models in my life.
