Meet Jordan Norman | 500 hour Certified Yoga Instructor, Usui Reiki Practitioner & Certified Fertility Awareness Method Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Norman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had always been a “side gig” girl… graduating with a bachelors in business, I worked a formal 9-5 in software for 6 years. I taught yoga alongside my 9-5 for 5 years, however, the “side gigs” kept entering my life. Life experiences led me to The Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) in 2020, and I became a certified Fertility Awareness Educator in 2022 – teaching women how to chart their cycles as a natural form of birth control. In 2022, I also became a reiki practitioner – this wasn’t planned, however, the universe called me to the work and a friend offered to attune me for free. As all of these healing modalities were entering my life, I continued to be called to help my community in this way. However, there was only so much time in the day. In April of 2023, I left my 9-5 to help my grandpa cross off a bucket list item of driving to Alaska one more time (he had driven it 9 times already, but was determined to make 10 times). Although I didn’t necessarily quit my corporate job to dedicate my time to yoga, reiki, and FAM, it was clear that this was a highway (no pun intended) to working for myself full time. My physical and mental health improved dramatically when I left corporate, I had more time to help people around me, and the opportunities for this work kept falling into my lap. It was apparent that helping people full time with yoga, reiki & FAM was what I was supposed to be doing.

What should our readers know about your business?
Ivy Wild Wellness LLC is dedicated to helping others live their best lives. Ivy Wild encompasses yoga instruction, reiki, and fertility awareness method coaching. What sets apart Ivy Wild Wellness LLC from other wellness companies is the true calling that brought this business to light. Every offering entered my life intentionally. I found yoga when I was in a dark depression & experiencing suicidal thoughts, I found reiki when I was diving deeper into my spirituality, and I found the fertility awareness method (fam) after a decade of being dissatisfied with my hormonal birth control.
Because all of these healing modalities entered my life for personal benefit, I truly see the power of them and the impact they can make on someone’s life. Because these modalities changed my life so dramatically, I have the confidence and passion that they can do the same for you.
My target clientele ranges from corporate employees who need stress reduction techniques, to individuals in recovery looking to add some mindfulness techniques to their recovery “tool box”, to yoga for events such as birthday & bachelorette parties, to women looking to reconnect with their bodies more & learn FAM to prevent pregnancy naturally, & more. I see a wide variety of clients & am grateful I can impact so many different people in different strides of life.
Transitioning into this work full time has not been easy – especially in the current economic climate. However, the universe kept pushing me into this work, and I had to finally surrender. The biggest lesson transitioning into this work full time is to trust. Trust the universe will continue to provide, trust in my abilities to help others, trust in the turnout of events and workshops, trust in my network connections, trust in myself. You truly can do anything you put your mind to.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a Colorado Springs native, the perfect day in the area would combine long standing hidden gems and new spots as this city continues to grow. I’d start the day paddle boarding Rampart Reservoir with my 10 lb Maltipoo. Paddle boarding is a must in Colorado summers. From here, we’d continue going up highway 24 to Woodland Park and hit the Donut Mill for Biscuits & Gravy (Unfortunately, I got diagnosed with Celiac a few years back, but I’ll vicariously live through whoever I’m with. It’s that good.) After the Donut Mill, we’d head back down 24 to Manitou. Manitou is the best place for mineral spring water. The spring water is also known to have healing energy. We’d fill up our water bottles with the best mineral water, and hit Sun Water Spa for some soaking. My all time favorite hot spring is Cottonwood in Buena Vista, but Sun Water is a great local option. We’d soak at Sun Water, take in the views, and head to Pueblo Viejo for dinner. I’ve been going to Pueblo Viejo for 15 years, the chips and salsa are best in town. I’d have my favorite dish, a mexican shrimp cocktail – a warm soup with shrimp, avocado, and the best broth. After dinner, we’d head downtown for some salsa dancing at COATI and Kava at Ohana Kava Bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To shoutout just one person in my life who has encouraged me along this journey would be impossible. I am grateful to be surrounded by many outstanding people, specifically women. THANK YOU to Janine Reed for choosing to attune me in Reiki, THANK YOU to my mom for watching my dog when I drove to Alaska, THANK YOU to my sister for listening to me cry when the reality of self employment got a little scary, THANK YOU to Ana Salvemini for being a fellow business owner baddie & answering all of my questions, THANK YOU to all of the powerful women in my life who help lift me & others up. I am forever blessed for all of you, named and unnamed.
