Meet Erin Davidson | Owner & Creative Design

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Davidson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea behind Wyld Sisters was two fold. First, there was a really big hole in the western world for fashionable, well-functioning button up shirts. That issue needed to be addressed. As a barrel racer, I couldn’t stand how my shirts were fitting. Constantly coming un-tucked, not long enough. The list goes on! The second was that in creating this line, Wyld Sisters was able to encourage women in all walks of life to let their personalities shine and embrace their unique characteristics.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
By trade, I am a massage therapist. Both in the human and equine world. I had my own thriving practice for many years. After 18 years in the profession, I had to make the tough decision to close up shop. I learned so many lessons from my teachers and clients, but one that stands out to me was something I learned in school. “Create the business you want to have from the beginning.” I would never discount myself or bend or conform to the market around me. I was never sorry for standing beside this principle and today, I bring the same mindset into Wyld Sisters. Yes, I am always learning and trying to be better. But, I believe in my business and product and try to always be myself.
Today, I am a vet tech by day and continue Wyld Sisters by night. I went from helping people to helping animals. I love my work and have found that there are a lot of lessons I have carried over into this new occupation. Kindness, compassion and encouragement are needed everyday by at least one person I come in contact with. Whether it’s clothing a gal in a killer shirt or loving on a owner that has an ill pet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend is visiting Cody, WY and I have to show them a good time. Well, they better buckle up because we are in the “Wild West”! Some of the wonderful attractions in my area include the Buffalo Bill Center of The West Museum, Yellowstone National Park including Ole Faithful, the Cody Nite Rodeo and 1890s Old Trail Town. We have a variety of restaurants but it wouldn’t be Wyoming without dinner at the historic Irma Hotel or Cassie’s Steakhouse.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been so many influencers in the life of Wyld Sisters. Countless friends and family that have always and continue to support this dream, but there are 2 people in particular that I have to mention.
Wyld Sisters was started with my best friend, Faith Kingston. Together, we jumped into the depths of the western fashion world not knowing where the adventure would take us. We plotted and schemed, studied and revised. Our love for fashion let us create a brand that was not only unique, but gave us the chance to encourage women of all ages. Even though Faith may not be an official part of the business anymore, she continues to encourage and challenge me to create the best product and show kindness along the way.
There is also my husband, Mike. I am always coming up with crazy ideas and thankfully, he has been a sounding board and vital part of the development of the business. He challenges me to think outside of the box and helps me see a larger picture. Very often his vision is larger then mine and that really helps me see our potential.
