We had the good fortune of connecting with Federico Peri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Federico, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Essentially, I had reached a point where I felt the need to personally engage, ready to tackle new professional challenges. The next step was to define my aesthetic language, something that was consistent with my personal background along with the experiences that had led me to take that significant leap.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Getting to this point has been extremely tough and -at times- exhausting, but when it comes to passion, the effort is decidedly sweeter. I started out as an interior designer and gradually added the role of product designer over time, a field I adore and which brings me great satisfaction. By frequently designing custom products for each interior, I have developed a growing passion for the product, which has consequently become a natural interest to actively cultivate through collaborations with design galleries and companies. It’s an ongoing story; to this day, I couldn’t exactly say where I stand, but when I look back, I feel extremely proud of the results achieved so far. I collaborate with one of the most important galleries in the world, work with design companies that prioritize quality, whether they are small artisanal entities or large corporations like Nespresso, one of my latest collaborations. I consider myself a humble person, but over the years, I’ve learned that this aspect is crucial; one must be patient and willing to improve because design isn’t the result of a sum of values, it’s rather a combination of experience, sensitivity, and passion.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow, there are so many options! I’ll focus on an area close to my heart and where I come from, the Veneto region, one of the Italian regions. I would take him to some iconic cities and their architectures, Verona, Vicenza, Padua, Treviso, and finally Venice. I would like him to experience the deeper aspects of these places, neglecting the tourist routes, focusing on details or moments of the day when tranquility reigns. Venice offers much more beyond what everyone knows, especially walking around it in the evening in summer, after dinner; it’s my favorite time as time seems to stand still, and everyone strolls slowly. I would also take him to the mountains to let him taste the beauty of the peaks and their trails through woods and breathtaking views. The mountains are a place I increasingly enjoy; they help clear my mind, and I would try to infect my friend with these pleasant sensations.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It might sound cliché, but the first people that come to mind are my parents, who spurred me on with both injections of confidence and expressions of doubt. I must say that the latter aspect, occasionally sensing a slight skepticism, was an incredibly effective stimulus. Then there’s my wife, an interior designer herself, who has always understood and supported my efforts and sacrifices in order to achieve the goal I had set for myself, as well as my grandfather, a figure in the background of many reflections. From a strictly personal standpoint, there have been several encounters, individuals, who have allowed me to evolve. I would mention two dear figures, Tiziano Vudafieri and Claudio Saverino, as well as the gallerist Nina Yashar (Nilufar gallery), who was the first to believe in my work.
