We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Renee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexis, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite affirmation would be “what’s for me, will always be for me.” To me this means that whatever it is that I desire will always find its way to me. A missed opportunity isn’t necessarily that if it doesn’t align with my values and purpose in life. I like this affirmation because it reminds me to have patience and faith in God and myself and know that everything is working out in my favor, regardless of the external circumstances.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Life of Lashes apart from others is my commitment to transparency, confidence, diversity, authenticity, and community. I believe in being transparent about my products, processes, and ensuring my customers feel confident in their purchases. My dedication to diversity and inclusion means that every woman deserves to feel represented and celebrated, and my brand reflects that belief. I strive to authentically connect with my audience, by bringing a sense of belonging and support. One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to keep pushing forward to establish my brand identity in a competitive market. Building a brand from the ground up certainly isn’t easy, and there are times when I feel discouraged or lost in the process, but I always manage to pick myself back up and keep going. Overcoming these challenges requires perseverance and resilience, which are some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Every setback and challenge have taught me to keep pushing forward, to adapt and grow in the face of adversity and to embrace failure as an opportunity for growth as well as never losing sight of my vision, even when the road ahead seems uncertain. I’ve also learned to embrace change and stay open to new ideas. The market is constantly evolving and being adaptable is essential to achieve long-term growth. What I want the world to know is Life of Lashes is more than just a brand – it’s about creating a space where every woman feels seen, valued, and empowered to embrace their beauty with confidence.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
During my best friend’s week-long visit, we would go to Quality Italian, Sushi Den, Stoic & Genuine, Jing, and BAO Brewhouse for dinner. For drinks, go to 54thirty, Forget Me Not, and Barcelona. We’d visit the Museum for Black Girls. Sunday brunch would be at Blue Island Oyster Bar in Cherry Creek, followed by shopping and gallery hopping nearby. Breakfast spots would include Snooze, Mimosas, and Urban Egg. For a day trip we’d go horseback riding in Estes Park, ice cream in town, and a hike at Hanging Lake. For a creative activity, we’d make candles Downtown at Paddy Wax, then have lunch at Denver Central Market. A relaxing day would be at Strawberry Springs in Steamboat Springs and would include a facial and massage after.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and support system have played a major role in my journey so far. Whether it’s providing emotional support or cheering me on, their love and encouragement has gotten me through tough times. I believe no one succeeds alone, so having a strong support system has been instrumental in overcoming challenges and celebrating successes along the way. I am incredibly grateful for their support, and I know that I wouldn’t be where I am today without them by my side.
