We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Restituto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacob, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency. A baby step may be small, but given enough time, I’ve found that taking steps in the right direction will get me somewhere!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being an artist is a journey where I don’t think you end up at a destination. Almost like a train line that runs forever, you have many stops, experiencing and learning new things, meeting new people and making memories, all to get back on the train and move to the next stop.

My music career has been (and still is) quite a journey filled with highs and lows. Some amazing moments traveling the country, playing concerts, conducting interviews and some not so amazing moments, failed business ventures, broken relationships and even some months of not being able to make payroll for myself.

For me, being an artist is a way of life, it’s how I see the world. Some days I create a lot and some I don’t create anything. Like I said above, it’s a journey

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
oh man, easy.
I’d give them the full New York experience. It would have to be Fall, my favorite season, and in my opinion, the most beautiful season in NY. The cool, crisp morning breeze, the still warm sun, the changing of the leaves. I would take them upstate for a night to experience the unmatched beauty of countless mixed colored trees for miles and miles. A display of color like no other. Next I would take them into NYC for two days. While you could spend a lifetime here, I’d show them some of the most historic spots (yes, I’m quite the history nerd) and also get them some $1 pizza (now $1.50 with inflation, lol). Next we’d cross the island, from Huntington, to Farmingdale, to the Hamptons to Montauk. Each a very different experience. Lastly, we’d spent an afternoon in my hometown, Northport. A small village on the harbor dating back a few hundred years.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God.
My pursuit of faith in God is continually transforming me into a better version of myself while in hand inspiring me to make the world a better place for those around me and after me
