We had the good fortune of connecting with Myles Drew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myles, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson that I’ve learned from running a business and pursuing a creative career would have to be, “Count on yourself”. What I mean by that is don’t depend on others not even business partners or crew members. When things are looking up the ones around you are all about you and your accomplishments, but when things get rough they’re nowhere to be found. So you can never count on anyone to truly be there for you except for yourself. It’s hard doing thing alone but at the end of the day it’s for the best because you know that you can count on YOU!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work as an audio engineer and photographer is great. What makes it great is that I actually love everything about it. There’s so many different ways to do it and so much to learn every day, they’re constant challenges and keep you interested. I love what I do and I love making my clients happy. That might set me apart from others in my field. The fact that I genuinely care about the outcome and their finalized product more than some of my clients shows you my obsession and dedication to my craft. I don’t do it for the money or recognition I do it for the happiness of
My clients and the joy I feel when they are pleased with my work. I was able to make it this far with my craft because of these reasons. Overcame all my challenges in front of me until some real life events took place. I’ve been dealing with a lot of hardships in my personal life that drove me out of my profession for 3 years now and still battling it today. I’ve learned that it’s ok to take a break and handle life but to never completely give up on what you love. I’m working on my comeback set for summer 2025 with a new recording studio as well as photography studio. There’s not much to say about my work and business because I let my work speak for itself. We will always have haters and people that don’t want to see you win but it’s up to you to keep pushing because you love your craft even tho not everyone will be on your side, self belief and consistency will take you further than you think.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest there’s not many places I can think of to go. I keep it simple I’m not flashy and fancy. I’d probably go to Mexico City for their tacos and go the Chubbies and bar b q myself. I’m a child at heart so I’d go to like water world and elitches boondocks and Dave n Busters.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One person I’d like to shout out and give some love and recognition to is my mentor Antonio Noriega. From the first day we met he saw the fire in me and began to believe in me. He gave me the opportunity to learn from him and Duece McGuire at Dream Big Studios. I was able to learn so much so fast that before I knew it I was running my own sessions with confidence. As time went on we still hold that bond and he still teaches me so much because in the audio engineering world learning never stops. Without his belief I wouldn’t be where I am with my career today!
