We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Capansky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business has taught me is perseverance. Owning your own business is challenging, but one thing I have learned is to never give up and that every up and down in my business has only helped me to grow and ultimately has made me a better human.

What should our readers know about your business?
My brick and mortar business is a healthy smoothie shop. I also do wellness coaching within my business. We are all about serving our community and I strongly believe in building personal relationships with my customers. I feel that is one way that we separate ourselves from the rest. My team has created an atmosphere that is welcoming and just like family. You’re getting more then just a smoothie when you walk through those doors.
I was a dental hygienist before I opened Blend so this was a completely new adventure for me. I took many of the skills I had working with people one on one and creating relationships and implemented them into my business. This has completely taken me out of my comfort zone, but I feel as though I am thriving as a business owner with each year that has passed. I have learned to take each day as it comes, there have been amazing days and there have been really hard days, but I know I am growing and learning!!
I am a mom, wife, and now business owner, I would like for anyone seeing my story to know that if I can do it, so can you!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting I would take her to downtown Littleton for drinks and dinner first. I love the downtown Littleton area, there are so many fun restaurants and places to have drinks. We love Smoking Fins and The Lazy Greyhound bar. I would love to take her to a concert to Red Rocks. The location can not be beat! It is beautiful and it doesn’t matter which concert you are attending, it’s always going to be a good time.
I also love the Old Blinking Light in Highlands Ranch. The happy hour there is so fun! I love the drinks and the appetizers.
On our last day I would take her to a Rockies game. Coors field is one of the best baseball fields around. The atmosphere is such a good vibe and I LOVE their monster nachos!
There are so many fun places in the city, but those are my top 3 spots.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to recognize my family and especially my husband for all of their unconditional support. Owning a business has been at times overwhelming and my family has always been there no matter what, no questions asked.
