We had the good fortune of connecting with Steve Sarin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Steve, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I’ll take some flack for saying the quiet part out loud, but most marketers are full of shit. One of the biggest issues in marketing is the widespread reliance on vanity metrics—like impressions, likes, and shares—that look good on paper but don’t drive meaningful business results. These metrics serve as a smokescreen, allowing marketers to justify their fees without showing real value. What really matters are actionable metrics, such as customer acquisition costs, conversion rates, and return on investment—data that directly impacts a company’s bottom line.

We started this business to change this narrative. Our goal is to help small businesses and community-focused organizations compete with big-budget brands by delivering transparent, results-driven marketing. By focusing on strategies that build authentic connections and drive measurable outcomes, we empower businesses to grow and make a difference in their communities.

Small businesses have the unique ability to connect deeply with their audiences, and by leveraging smart, data-driven marketing, they can stand out against larger competitors. For me, marketing isn’t about smoke and mirrors—it’s about helping good companies succeed by doing work that truly matters.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been anything but linear, but every step along the way has shaped who I am today. Before I transitioned into PR and digital marketing, I spent over ten years in the hospitality industry. During that time, I learned firsthand the importance of quality over quantity, exceptional customer service, and managing diverse teams with varied skill sets. In hospitality, every detail counts, and I developed a deep appreciation for how small, thoughtful decisions can lead to better outcomes. These lessons have shaped my approach to business ever since, particularly when it comes to focusing on real value rather than numbers only.

The transition to digital marketing wasn’t easy. I had no experience in the field, but I knew I wanted to make a bigger impact than what I was doing in PR for tech companies. It was clear that marketing could be a powerful tool for meaningful change, and that’s when I made the leap.

What I’m most proud of in my career is my work in the addiction treatment space. This is a personal area for me, as I have a deep connection to recovery, and seeing the direct impact of my work was incredibly rewarding and motivating. I had the privilege of working with a team that helped people leave treatment clean and sober, and it was powerful to witness the transformation. Knowing that my marketing efforts played a role in people’s recovery made the work feel meaningful. It’s a reminder of why I chose to do what I do—to help others and make a positive difference.

What I want people to know about our brand is that we’re in this for the right reasons. We’re not just here to make a quick buck or follow the latest trends. We’re here to help organizations that are truly making a difference in their communities. Our focus is on working with businesses and non-profits that go above and beyond in the services they provide. “Good enough” simply doesn’t fly with us. We believe that if you’re going to invest in marketing, you deserve a strategy that’s not only effective but reflects the high standards of your work.

We choose to partner with organizations that share our commitment to excellence, those that are dedicated to delivering real value to their customers. Whether it’s a small business, a recovery center, or a community-driven cause, we want to help those who are genuinely passionate about making an impact. Our approach is all about transparency, collaboration, and creating strategies that produce real, measurable results. We don’t settle for mediocrity, and neither should the organizations we work with. That’s what sets us apart—we want to help our clients stand out for the quality of their work,

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Having worked in the restaurant industry, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for thoughtful food, so I’d kick off the week with a stop at Safta in RiNo. It’s a top-notch Mediterranean/Israeli restaurant with incredible flavors and quality that never disappoints. After a delicious meal, we’d head over to Sweet Cow in Louisville for what I consider the best ice cream in the state—no contest. It’s a must-try if you haven’t been!
T
o burn off those calories, we’d head to Brainard Lake Recreation Area in Ward to hike the Blue Lake Trail. It’s one of the first trails I did when I moved to Colorado, and it’s still one of my top three favorites. The scenery is postcard-esque, and the hike itself is just the right balance of challenging and rewarding for out-of-towners.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a big shoutout to my colleague, Megan Pitcher. I first met her while working at a PR agency, and I was ready to leave and do something more meaningful. Megan took a chance on me and hired me to work alongside her at a local addiction and mental health treatment center. At the time, I had zero experience in digital marketing, but Megan took me under her wing. She basically “brain-dumped” a decade’s worth of knowledge and experience, guiding me through the ins and outs of the industry.

Her mentorship gave me the professional development I needed—whether it was drafting marketing strategies or refining them together. I’m incredibly grateful for her support and guidance. Without Megan’s trust and belief in me, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
