Meet Chris Potter | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Potter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I believe the biggest habit that has helped with my success is discipline. The discipline to show up everyday, get things done and keep moving forward. It’s discipline that helps you do the hard things and embrace challenges. I also have a great morning routine that I call my Early Morning Behaivors (EMB’s). It consists of drinking 20 oz of water right after I wake up, Immediately putting my headphones in and listening to something inspiring on YouTube for about 15 min, and then I meditate on affirmations or pray for 10min, I then write a one page journal entry and list the 3 most important things I need to get done that day, 3 things that I am grateful for and I usually reflect or try to answer a question that I am working on, then I get coffee, get some work done, go through a full body stretch for 10-15min and then exercise for about 45min-1hr and then have a protein shake for breakfast. It takes some time, but I wake up around 5am every day and get right to it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My entrepreneurship journey started in 2013 when I took over the Crimson and Gold Tavern. This turned out to be the biggest and best learning experience of my life as it led to my growth in the business world. I was able to branch out to the Sports Lounge off Broadway in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. After a remodel and rebranding, I continued to expand and bought the Fainting Goat Pub. This decision was ultimately a financial success but it was too much work and took away from our long term goal, and therefore a personal defeat. This failure proved to be an opportunity to find the lessons, take a step back, reflect, and turn it into a success. Making drinks at the bars inspired me to bring my vision to the masses, and my brand was born. From there, we started Crispy Cocktails, our 7% ABV, vodka-based, canned cocktail that comes in four mouthwatering flavors.
We are not like any other seltzer or canned cocktail- our locally made, gluten-free, all natural flavors, with 6 times distilled vodka supports the local community. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned every single lesson you can imagine, that owning a business takes tons of time, effort and work, and I’ve made mistakes that have cost 100s of thousands of dollars. I’ve learned you must be patient and persevere to be successful in a business.
Ultimately, I want to turn Crispy into a lifestyle brand, such as Redbull, where people are excited about the things we do and the products we create. Our brand has value, and to be able to give back to all those who have helped us along the way is a main goal. I love seeing people enjoy our product and have fun and say they love the crispy taste.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
