We had the good fortune of connecting with Desiree Gallegos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desiree, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Denver Colorado. Born and raised.

I am a daughter to two supportive parents, one older sister, and a younger brother.

Growing up my parents made it a point to show me that hard work will pay off.
I seen them both work multiple jobs to make an honest living.

Both my parents were janitors so they had to work hard for the things we had. They would always remind me that no matter what I was doing to give 100% even if it was cleaning floors.

The example they set made me realize that no matter what I do if I try my hardest I will see results. My mom would also remind me that God had a plan. No matter the challenges I believe God has always made a way.

They didn’t have enough money to send me to college so I saved my graduation money to send myself to nail school and get my nail license.

I am so greatful that they were the example of true hard work and dedication. If it wasn’t for them I’m not sure if I would of took the leap of faith to follow my dreams.

I can now walk in my own path and work hard to make my dream into a success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a nail tech since 2012 and I still enjoy every moment of it. I look forward to going to work and serving others. It brings me so much joy to make others feel good about themselves. I am so excited to finally have my own studio and be able to do what I love. I am proud to say that I am finally walking out my dream. Something I have prayed about for many years. Some days it still seems unreal walking into work. Getting to where I am today came with challenges the biggest one was actually taking the leap of faith to do it. I had to get the courage to step out of my comfort zone. I left the salon I was at for 7 years. Change for me has always been a challenge but once I believed in my vision it helped so much.

I have learned to step out and take the step. I have learned to follow my dreams even if it was scary. I have also learned to trust God more and fully lean on the plan He had for me.

I want the world to know that I love what I do I have a passion. Its not just doing nails its something that I enjoy. Each client that sits in my chair i’m so grateful for.

I always look back to the story of Jesus washing feet in John 13. The quote I live by is, ‘Than Jesus said, “Take what I have given you and go change the world”
When I have clients walk in the door I want them to feel loved and accepted. I want them to know that this is more than a job for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man this is a tough one since I been a mom I feel like my life has been on mom mode and I don’t go anywhere exciting unless it’s the zoo or something hahah. But if I had to pick I would take them up to the mountains. I would find a cute little spot to grab a bite to eat and walk around to see the beautiful view of the mountains. At night I would have us go up to lookout mountain. I would go a lot as a kid and haven’t went much as a adult. I would probably be exploring with them since I don’t do much of that anymore.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I would like to thank all my friends and family I have had so much support during this process. I am truly blessed to have the support system that I do. No one questioned me, no one had doubts. they all knew this has been my dream. I have never felt more supported. I would like to give a special thanks to Rita,Martin, and Joe. Even on my slow days they always remind me that things will get better. They always push me to see the absolute best and to stick to my dream. Having the support from them keeps me going.
