We had the good fortune of connecting with Autum Drai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Autum, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
An artistic and creative seemed to be my only option after I realized my true passion. My value for self expression and individuality has driven me to become an artist, using all of my free time to create whether it be writing, dancing or modeling. I just genuinely decided to follow my inner compass and it guided me to create.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started dancing as a high schooler. I knew I would be a dancer because whenever I saw dancers on tv as a child I knew I was destined to be apart of the art form somehow. From there, my training expanded to taking classes outside of school. I practiced jazz funk, heels, hip hop and all the other classes that were available to me. After graduation, I naturally still gravitated towards expressing myself in any way I could. My experience being on stage translated well into modeling and runway work. I started my project SWM (Stick with me) in 2019 as a personal commitment I had to sharing my stories, skills and experiences.

Throughout the years I have learned so much about myself art in the world. Still keeping my same drive and passion for self expression. I am still a student of each of my craft but I have also been a teacher to many.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Cheesman park. Confluence Park. Walk the Cherry Creek trail. Stop at Doppio Coffee and order an ube matcha. Visit Twist & Shout and buy a cool record, head to City Park for more amazing vibes. Have dinner at Pepper Asian Bistro!
