Meet Grant Fuellenbach | CEO @ GO First | Helping Builders Ditch Job Boards & Build Predictable Sales

We had the good fortune of connecting with Grant Fuellenbach and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Grant, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I built GO First after watching a close friend—a talented remodeler—struggle to keep his business afloat despite his exceptional craftsmanship. His situation highlighted a disturbing reality: construction businesses face staggering failure rates, with over 20% closing in their first year and only 17.2% surviving two decades.
With my background in B2B sales and marketing, I stepped in to help him implement systems rather than just relying on ad spend and job directories. We developed a comprehensive approach similar to strategies I’d successfully deployed in commercial construction software and drone services.
This experience birthed our FrameWork—a three-part methodology focused on GAP analysis, a Mutual-Action-Plan (MAP), and a scaling program. We don’t just focus on leads; we systematize every aspect of a builder’s business:
* LeadFlow – Creating predictable revenue without owners handling every sale
* Deal Management – Streamlining estimating for more profitable bids
* Design & Refine – Ensuring seamless client approvals and clear team responsibilities
* Build – Optimizing workflow, profitability, and quality control
* Retain & Refer – Building world-class client retention systems
* Setting & Scaling – Developing infrastructure for sustainable growth
Our mission is helping builders escape the industry’s alarming failure statistics by building systems that support long-term success and allow them to focus on delivering exceptional work while achieving their vision.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
GO First Consulting stands apart in the construction industry by providing a complete system for builders rather than just tactical marketing services. We’ve developed a framework that addresses every aspect of a remodeler’s business—from lead generation to project completion and client retention.
I’m most proud of our measurable impact. We’ve generated over $5.3 million in revenue for our clients and sourced over 26,000 qualified leads. What excites me is seeing builders transform from constantly chasing their next project to having booked schedules 6-12 months in advance with profitable work.
Key lessons I’ve learned:
* Systems beat tactics every time
* Successful builders solve client problems rather than just selling services
* Communication is the foundation of client satisfaction in remodeling
* Technology adoption gives builders a true competitive edge when properly implemented

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
From day one, my fiance Samantha has been my greatest motivator and champion. Sam also recognized the significant challenges builders face in Northern Colorado and encouraged me to launch the company. Her insight into the industry’s needs and her unwavering support gave me the confidence to build something that could genuinely help construction businesses overcome the systemic issues they face. Without her belief in this vision and her constant encouragement, GO First might have remained just an idea rather than the growing business it is today.
I’m also grateful to the Home Builders Association communities in Colorado. Their support and network have been invaluable in understanding the industry’s challenges and connecting with builders who need our services.
