We had the good fortune of connecting with Brother Luck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brother, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing outsiders often don’t realize about the hospitality and chef world is the intense mental and physical toll it takes. Behind the beautifully plated dishes and seamless service is a high-pressure environment with long hours, late nights, and constant stress. Mental health struggles, burnout, and substance abuse are unfortunately common, yet often go unspoken. More than ever, it’s crucial to prioritize wellness, create supportive kitchens, and break the stigma around mental health in our industry. A healthy chef makes better food, and a positive kitchen culture leads to better hospitality for everyone

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My journey in the culinary world has been nothing short of inspiring. What sets me apart is my dedication to storytelling through food, my commitment to mentorship, and my ability to turn challenges into opportunities. As the owner of multiple restaurants and a chef featured on Top Chef, Chopped, and Beat Bobby Flay, I bring a unique fusion of Southwestern flavors and my personal heritage to every dish.

The road to success wasn’t easy. Growing up with financial hardships and facing adversity early in my career, I learned resilience and perseverance. I’ve struggled with mental health, the pressures of the industry, and personal loss, all of which have shaped my philosophy—one that prioritizes not just great food, but also the well-being of those who create it. I’ve turned my experiences into a platform, speaking openly about mental health in the hospitality industry and encouraging others to seek balance and support.

Through my restaurants and community outreach, I continue to inspire and uplift those around me. My brand is more than just about food—it’s about telling stories, breaking barriers, and helping others rise. My message to the world? “Your past does not define your future. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colorado Springs is truly a hidden gem in Colorado! I’d, of course, recommend dining at my restaurants, Four by Brother Luck and Eleven18, where we offer not just incredible food but also unique experiences like cooking classes, chef-driven dinners, and cocktail events with the city’s top bartenders. Our food scene is thriving, and I’m proud to be part of its growth.

With unbeatable weather, a visit to Garden of the Gods is a must, offering breathtaking views and outdoor adventures. The Olympic & Paralympic Training Center is another highlight, showcasing world-class athletes and their dedication to excellence. And for sports fans, catching a Switchbacks soccer game is always an exciting and energetic experience!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my wife Tina Luck. She’s been a constant motivator and support.
