Meet Rachael Waggoner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachael Waggoner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachael, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Aside from deciding to go into business, the most important decision I made was to commit to continuous learning. I spent a lot of time doing research, taking classes, and constantly working to improve my skills. That mindset of growth and self-education played a huge role in helping me build and grow my business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love that I provide a place for people to be able to come and feel safe whether it’s at the salon or the school. My businesses keep growing and I think the right people find their way to me. It definitely hasn’t been easy and I think that consistency is the key to a lot of it. I have found that staying consistent has really helped me in organization and and identification of priorities. I try to tackle my biggest tasks first and then everything gets easier.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man I love this question! In my dream week I would love to take them to Colorado favorites. An absolute must see is Red Rocks. Preferably we could go watch a concert but if not, just hiking around there is incredible enough. I’d love to take them to Estes Park or Glenwood Springs for a quick little trip away from Denver to see the mountains. We would definitely have to catch some green chili and some breweries. I’d love to show them everything from Meow Wolf to the little town of Golden. I’d make sure they could see things that took their breath away and taste foods that help to lock in the core memories.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a huge shoutout to my incredible husband, who supports me through all my crazy ideas and big dreams—his patience and belief in me mean the world. I’m beyond grateful for the amazing artists I get to work with every day; their talent and drive constantly inspire me and push me to grow. And of course, I wouldn’t be here without my clients—many of whom have been ride or die from the beginning. Their loyalty and trust are the foundation of my business, and I never take that for granted.
