Meet Deidre Bloomquist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deidre Bloomquist and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deidre, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I started my business, it was to fill a gap I couldn’t ignore. At the time, I was supporting people with nutrition and kept seeing the same pattern—women struggling with hormone issues that weren’t resolving, even with near-perfect diets and lifestyles. It became clear to me that something deeper was going on. Hormones weren’t just influenced by food and exercise—they were being disrupted by hidden factors no one was talking about. That realization lit a fire in me.
I was working in a high-paying corporate role in oil and gas at the time, but I felt deeply unfulfilled. I couldn’t picture a future I was excited about. What I could envision was helping people truly heal—and I was endlessly fascinated by how the human body worked. So I quit my job and enrolled in a health coaching program the very same day. That leap started my journey into building a practice—first as a coach, and eventually as a functional practitioner, after years of clinical training and experience.
Like many practitioners, my work evolved through my own life experiences. When I became pregnant with my son, I did everything right to support his gut health—birth planning, breastfeeding, skin-to-skin, the works. But what I didn’t realize then was that he would also inherit my toxin burden. When he developed severe, full-body eczema before his first birthday, it pushed me into a whole new level of investigation. I became relentless in finding answers—not just for him, but for every parent and every child experiencing similar struggles.
That personal journey completely reshaped my clinical lens. It changed the testing we run, the protocols we use, and the results we’re able to help families achieve. I never imagined this is where my work would lead, but this evolution—rooted in both science and lived experience—has shaped a practice that goes far beyond what I ever dreamed possible.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business, Always Growing, was built from the belief that healing is possible—and that we are always evolving. What sets us apart is how deeply we look beneath the surface. We go far beyond meal plans and hormone balancing tips. We run advanced functional labs that most conventional providers don’t, to uncover hidden root causes like environmental toxins, gut imbalances, immune dysfunction, and mold exposure—especially in cases where people are told “everything looks normal” but they know in their bones something isn’t right.
With infertility rates steadily rising, it’s no longer enough to focus on ovulation tracking, supplements, or hormone balance alone. The truth is, we’re seeing a generation of couples struggling to conceive not because they’re doing something wrong—but because their bodies are carrying an invisible burden: toxic load.
In my practice, I take a root-cause approach to fertility by supporting couples before they conceive—through comprehensive preconception detoxification. This isn’t about trendy cleanses or juice fasts. It’s a strategic, science-backed process that involves: We use functional lab testing to identify hidden sources of toxin exposure, such as mold, heavy metals, mycotoxins, glyphosate, and endocrine-disrupting chemicals. We support drainage and mitochondrial function before opening detox pathways, because your body needs energy and clear exits before it can safely let go. Our targeted detoxification protocols use food-based nutrients, binders, and gentle support for the liver, lymph, and gut to ensure detoxification is effective.
Preconception detox is not just about preparing for pregnancy—it’s about giving the next generation a cleaner start. We now know that toxins can be passed down through the placenta, breast milk, and even sperm. By reducing toxic burden beforehand, we’re not just improving chances of conception—we’re laying the foundation for healthier pregnancies, babies, and outcomes for years to come.
This is the work I wish more people were talking about—and it’s the work that’s changing lives every single day in our practice.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When friends or family come to visit me in Colorado, I love curating an experience that showcases both the stunning natural beauty and the vibrant local culture that makes this place so special. One of my favorite places to start is Golden—a town that perfectly blends small-town charm with breathtaking access to the outdoors. I always take guests on one of my go-to hikes like North Table Mountain or my favorite, Mount Galbraith.
After a morning on the trails, nothing beats unwinding at New Terrain Brewing Company. It’s more than just a brewery—it’s a local experience. Set against the backdrop of the foothills, it’s the kind of place where you can sip on a seasonal IPA with your shoes still dusty from the hike. On weekends, there’s usually live music or a rotating lineup of food trucks, and it never fails to impress out-of-towners who want a true taste of Colorado culture.
For meals, I like to mix casual and creative, and sushi is always on the list. Denver might be landlocked, but the sushi scene is surprisingly strong. I’ll often bring guests downtown to Denver Poke Company for a quick, fresh lunch that’s light enough after a day outdoors.
Another must-do is a morning at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Even if there isn’t a concert, we’ll go run (or walk) the stairs, soak in the incredible acoustics, and explore the surrounding trails and visitor center. It’s a uniquely Colorado experience that wows just about everyone. I also love taking people on a quick day trip to Chautauqua Park in Boulder. It offers incredible views of the Flatirons with easy walking paths and a cozy, historic feel—perfect for those who want something outdoorsy but not too intense.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to Dr. Jay Davidson and Dr. Todd Watts. Their relentless pursuit of knowledge beyond the mainstream—especially in the areas of toxicity and its profound impact on the body—has been a game-changer for me. Their unwavering dedication to uncovering truths that many overlook has not only deepened my understanding of health but has also inspired me to continuously seek out and share the lesser-known aspects of functional medicine with my community. The work they’re doing has been invaluable in shaping how I approach healing and education, and I am forever grateful for their influence and guidance.
