Meet Veronique Leclercq | Owner and founder of Bastille PARISDENVER

We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronique Leclercq and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronique, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business came from a very personal place.
After living in Denver for several years, I felt there was space for a different kind of fashion experience ; one rooted in quality, storytelling, and human connection. I missed the intimacy of independent boutiques in Paris, where pieces are chosen with intention and shopping feels more like a conversation than a transaction.
I wanted to create a space that reflected my own relationship with fashion: thoughtful, timeless, and meaningful. Bastille PARISDENVER was born from the desire to share French brands and craftsmanship that I truly believe in, while building something independent and lasting within the local community.
More than anything, starting my own business was about creating a place that feels genuine ; a boutique where women can discover beautiful pieces, take their time, and feel inspired rather than rushed.

What should our readers know about your business?
Bastille PARISDENVER is a women’s boutique that brings Parisian elegance to Denver. Every piece is personally curated from French brands I admire, chosen for their craftsmanship, timeless design, and enduring quality. What sets us apart is the experience itself, intimate, unhurried, and personal, where shopping feels like discovery rather than a transaction.
Starting an independent business wasn’t easy. From sourcing and logistics to learning retail from scratch, every step was a challenge. I overcame it by staying true to my vision, trusting my instincts, and relying on the support of family and the Denver community.
I’ve learned that authenticity, patience, and attention to detail matter more than perfection. Bastille PARISDENVER is more than a store; it’s a reflection of my journey, a celebration of independent brands, and a space where women can explore timeless style with meaning and joy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Denver for a week, here’s how I’d show them the city:
Day 1: Lunch at Le French, then drinks at La Bouche.
Day 2: Explore Larimer Square and walk around downtown.
Day 3: Visit the Blue Bear and Union Station.
Day 4: Shop and stroll through Cherry Creek North.
Day 5: Discover the 9+CO neighborhood, with its local shops and creative spots.
This plan balances food, drinks, sightseeing, and shopping, giving a mix of Denver’s culture, style, and local flavor.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without hesitation, I would dedicate my shoutout to my family. Starting an independent business is deeply personal, and having their unwavering support made all the difference. Even from afar, they believed in me, encouraged me to take risks, and reminded me to trust my vision ; especially during the moments of doubt that inevitably come with entrepreneurship.
Beyond my family, I’m also grateful to the people I’ve met along the way in Denver, fellow small business owners, clients, and creatives, whose kindness, advice, and enthusiasm have reinforced my belief in building something independent and community-driven.
Their support, both emotional and practical, has been essential in turning Bastille PARISDENVER from an idea into a living, evolving place.
