We had the good fortune of connecting with Phoenix OHara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phoenix, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Hike Doggie Denver East is a professional dog hiking service, and our mission is to make Dogs as Happy as They Make Us. With busy schedules and many responsibilities, dog parents often do not have the time to provide exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization their dog needs. We help our community by providing a safe and convenient door-to-door service; Hike Doggie Denver East picks up pups from their homes in the morning, takes them on a hiking adventure for the day, and brings pups home relaxed, snoozy, and ready to calmly love their families.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am proud Doggie Denver East has created a community for dog parents, focused on safety, hiking adventures, and giving dogs the BEST DAY EVER. When we arrive at the trailhead, each pup is outfitted in Hike Doggie harnesses and leashes, they are grouped by athleticism and temperament, and in packs of four, we set off on a two-hour hike. The pups are photographed throughout the day and once they are dropped off home, relaxed and ready for a nap, we send their parents a Google photo album illustrating their hiking adventures, including their happy faces, hiking besties, and pictures of the pups receiving tons of love from Hike Doggie Denver East hikers.
Launching a new business is never easy, requiring focus, grit, and dedication, but having the support of Hike Doggie Corporate, including sharing 10 years of knowledge and experience, helps to effectively grow and quickly become profitable. This is the key – as a new business, questions will come up, challenges will surface, and having support to help navigate the start-up is so important.
The world should know Hike Doggie will love your pup/fur baby as much as you, and it is our joy and honor to spend a day together exercising, adventuring, and enjoying Colorado’s beautiful trails.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to eat great food, restuarants such as Le Colonial, Hillstone, or 801 Chophouse are a few favorites. To me, Colorado’s mountains are intrinsic, seen from almost any location, and must be admired and appreciated daily.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Kath Allen founded Hike Doggie over ten years ago in Golden Colorado, and with over 60,000 dogs hiked since 2016, her vision continues to inspire dog lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, and is the incubus for my partner Gary Schartz and I buying into the Hike Doggie franchise, purchasing Hike Doggie Denver East, and expanding into Aurora and Denver East communities. As former clients, we witnessed the benefits Hike Doggie provided our dogs, and passionately believe dogs need and deserve daily adventures providing mental stimulation, socialization, and fantastic exercise.
