Meet Zach Housand | Owner, H&H Social

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach Housand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zach, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
To fight and fight and fight for something you believe in. Business is hard enough, but when you throw COVID in the mix, it completely changes everything you know. But as we are now a year into it I have learned that it is just another obstacle to overcome in pursuit of a goal. Every day in a business is a grind and I think that’s what entrepreneurs both hate and love about it, and it is what make’s it addicting.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
H&H Social is a client tailored hospitality company. No matter if you are having an event in a park, a museum or in the comfort of your own home, H&H’s goal is to provide an innovative, inviting and creative culinary and service experience. I like to think what sets us apart is bringing that restaurant and bar feel to the catering world. What I mean by that is creating the feeling of you seeing your favorite bartender or server but in a more intimate setting, be it at your house party or a corporate event. We train our staff to have that very welcoming nature. It is a model that I have worked in for most of my career. I have been lucky enough to work for some amazing people and restaurants that taught that model as well. The product can be amazing but relationships with the people dining is just as if not more important. That is the principle that I based H&H on, and I hope that helps us continue to grow long into the future. Oh and I think our food product is damn good and always changing with new ideas!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man that is a great question. So for sure the Dairy Block to go to Blanchard Wines and Seven Grand. I love love Angelo’s on 6th Avenue. Anywhere in the Highlands is a great place- El Five, Avanti, Prost, Senor Bear. Being a sports junkie I would for sure take them to whatever team is in season, preferable the Nuggets or Avs, with a stop at My Brothers Bar before the game. That would be my Denver stop. From there we would make a pit stop at Red Rocks then head out on 285 to Crested Butte for what I believe is the best drive in Colorado. On that drive we’d make a pit stop at Eddy Line Brewery in BV. Heading back into Denver, I live down in the south suburbs so we would stop into Breck Brewery and Lone Tree Brewery. Obviously I am leaving out some great places but that would be a sound trip to me!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shanny Covey, owner of Robin’s (robinsrestaurant.com) in Cambria, California. There are many people that I have looked up to and took tendencies from in my career path, but she is the one where I tried to watch every move. Just an amazing business woman. Fair but firm.
