We had the good fortune of connecting with Elk Raven Photography and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elk Raven, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We believe using our photography for inspiration of our natural world is very important. There is know time like the present to be aware of all things natural. Wildlife, Landcsape and conservation are important for our future generations. We at elk raven photography have a goal of using our photography to educate, to open up minds of individual people. We are committed to producing images that capture the awe and gratitude we feel with each moment in nature, we hope our images inspire you to pause for a moment and express gratitude for this incredible planet.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are 100% natural with our photography. “ what you see is what you get” Mother Nature is gorgeous enough without changing the photo in any artificial way. We bring real life nature photography to your viewing. We are most proud of believing in our selves and dreams of being a story teller of wild places and animals. We got to today by believing. Believe in something you are truly passionate about and it becomes a daily ritual to make sure you achieve that same goal. It hasn’t been easy but we are grateful to have a driving group of amazing people that we see inspired daily by our photography and that keeps us smiling and going forward. We want everyone to know that we are passionate about our planet, we are passionate about wild things and the adventures it takes to capture the image that Mother Nature has in front of you, we are hear to bring positivity to this world in away we all can experience and that’s through the passion of Mother Nature.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Salida Co is simply fascinating. Our community is filled with love and laughter, support and adventure. Start your day with a winter skin up at the local resort Monarch Mountain to experience a sunrise spectacular, cruise into Bunny and Clyde’s for a warm delicious espresso drink. Take a stroll through our amazing downtown and support small businesses and art galleries. Check out Salida Mtn Sports for all your outdoor gear. Swing into Leslie Jorgensen’s fine art gallery to be awed by her beautiful paintings. Grab a cold beer out at Soulcraft brewery and of course don’t forget to have dinner at the famous Amicas, a place that everyone calls there favorite. Hanging out in this small community vibe will only have you coming back again and again

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to give a shoutout to Mother Nature for being the beauty she shines in daily. Our adventure companion Nala, she is our lovely 7yr old yellow lab. Our family and friends for their encouragement to keep photographing our natural world. Thomas Mangelsen Jane Goodall The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association, The Conservation Alliance and Doug Peacock are a few that have truly spoken to the heart and soul of elk raven photography.
