We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I grew up lucky enough to watch my dad start his own businesses! I watched him fail and I watched him succeed. I saw the passion he had for what he was doing, and I knew the reasons he was doing it. It motivated me! I didn’t go the entrepreneur route at first! I decided on college, and after I graduated I realized that a 9-5 job was not going to be for me! I worked had for a few years to save up the money to begin investing! After getting a few businesses off the ground I decided it was time for something I was passionate about and could see myself creating an empire out of and then I got to work!

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is The Perfect Touch which is a wedding and event planning business! We’ve been in business in northern colorado for over 8 years now and I couldn’t be more proud. I am beyond thankful for my amazing business partner, Nicole, a good partner in a business is worth their weight in gold. Owning your own business is definitely one of the hardest things I have ever done but the most rewarding as well! The trials and tribulations I have gone through in growing our business, holding on through the pandemic, and balancing a personal life has helped me to grow as a person and become stronger and resilient.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think Denver is such a fun and exciting place! Whenever I have friends in town I always love to take in downtown Denver to see all the shops and fun restaurants! Maine shack is my go to for food trucks! I also am old school in love going to the Denver aquarium and Denver zoo, it’s always a blast and it’s fun to see all the activities they have going on throughout the season!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe everything to my parents! We grew up in a one light town in Louisiana! My parents were married and had me at 17. I watched them struggle and fight to create a better life for me than the one they had been given. They never gave up, my dad who school and got his ged when my mom was pregnant with me and he worked for the next 18 years in the oil and gas industry spending months away from home at a time to support us and make sure I had everything I could ever need! My parents decided to take a chance and moved us to Colorado and that is where my dad beat all the odds, left a dead end job where he gave everything for nothing and decided to start his own business in the oil and gas industry. 6 years later and I couldn’t be more proud of seeing the entrepreneur he has become. He built an empire from absolutely nothing. I will forever be grateful for my parents teaching me that against all odds all I need is to believe in myself and work hard to achieve my dreams.
