We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Snyder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what do you attribute your success to?
From a personal standpoint, the most important factors behind my success are confidence, mindset and the willingness to get uncomfortable. Trust me, I have ‘days’ like everyone else. That said, I do try to keep a positive mindset and see the learning moments as well as the positives that exist in all situations, especially on the toughest situations. I am always a work in progress but I have to lean in and trust myself to lead by example and make strong decisions because I know I am capable of greatness. And, so long as I am willing to embrace the uncomfortable, the stressful and the uncertain moments, I will continue to grow and evolve and so will my businesses.

From a branding standpoint, the most important factors behind my business success are education, consistency and boundaries. As a business owner, it’s my obligation and my honor to educate my employees and customers alike. My team rely’s on me and I rely on them. We all have a voice, which I encourage my team to use because together we collectively produce business growth and personal growth. I look at my team as my family and I enjoy teaching and guiding them. Our customers won’t know all that we offer and how it can benefit their needs/wants unless we choose to educate/share with them. As with anything in life, one must remain consistent in order to produce results. Consistency with continued growth, consistency with positive customer experiences, consistency with efforts given, etc. Lastly, every business should have healthy boundaries, as should their teams, so as not to be taken advantage of. All of these things combined will create a brand that others want to be a part of. It’s the people and the product/services.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I own a tanning salon in Windsor, CO; Nova Tans. What I love most about Nova Tans is that it is a representation of the things I love. It’s a culmination of great design, friendly folks, doing something that makes you ‘look good – feel good’ about yourself and provides a dose of happy in our customers’ day!

What sets Nova Tans apart from other tanning salons is our level of detail, our level of customer experience, our cleanliness, our organization, our internal communication and our desire to always improve along the way. We change our bed lamps prior to the end of their life cycle so our customers receive the best color possible always. We bring in ‘top of the line’ products. We are consistent in our efforts to do good business and be good to our customers.

My experiences in the following areas are what landed me to where I am today. I graduated college with a B.S. Degree in Interior Design and Architecture. 13 years of my professional career were spent in Residential Property Management. 5 years of my professional career were spent in a split role of being an Executive Administrator and Customer Experience Director for local Colorado companies. I’ve basically been treating other peoples businesses as if they were my own for many years. In that time, I learned how to run a business but without having the actual title of Owner. I failed and I succeeded. I never settled for ‘that will do’, I always strived for ‘great’. As with everything in life, there have been many many challenges over the years. I’ve learned and grown from each of them. I’ve learned what to do and what not to do. I learned what kind of Owner I want to be and I learned how I want to treat others I do business with.

To overcome challenges, I decide to meet them head on rather than shy away from them. Although uncomfortable, that’s how one learns….to just do it!

I’m also a Coach with Atlas Nutrition. (This is one of the companies my fiance owns. Between the two of us, we own 4 companies.). As a Coach, I work with my clients on nutrition, fitness, mindset, routine building, restorative movement guidance, self-love, supplementation and overall health and wellness. Between coaching and Nova Tans, I am able to offer my clients and customers the things in life that make them happier being in their skin. It is pretty damn rewarding to be able to positively impact the lives of others!

My brand as a human and in business is ‘look good – feel good’. At some point, I will bring this motto to life in the form of design work! Design has always been a part of me and will eventually be a part of my future projects/business.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people in life that have helped shaped me into who I am today. There have been many experiences in life that have shaped me as well.

The most notable individual that deserves a very BIG shoutout, is Justin Vetters. Justin is many things in my life! He’s my fiance, my business partner, my coach, my mentor, my best friend and the smartest human I know. He saw within me what I was capable of before I did, before I was confident in myself. And I’m forever grateful for him and for the life we live together!
