We had the good fortune of connecting with Griffin Mather and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Griffin, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
By far the toughest decision we have faced as a band was letting a member go, it genuinely was an agonizing conclusion to reach. No one ever really starts a project/band with the idea in mind that not all the founding members will make it to the end, it’s always let’s write some great music, have fun and play shows. So to get to the point were the rest of the group is seriously considering having to remove another member is a painful journey, you keep hoping and wishing the lagging individual will step up to the plate. But like any other relationship in life, you can only give someone so many chances before you become a door mat

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are definitely looking forward to a lot in the near future, there’s our first out-of-state tour in Texas from August 13th to the 20th, then we are playing a pop punk mini fest at larimer square as soon as we get back with the losers club, bury Mia, hellocentral and gunpoint alibi that is gonna rip and of course with having two new members there a lot of push to get to writing new material, hopefully our debut ep, and getting that into the studio with our producer Taylor Hahn.

Getting to this point has felt somewhat like stumbling while walking, in that none of us set out with the intention of this being anything other than a good time and something to do on the weekend to scratch that creative itch. So when we dropped our first teaser for our debut single “better off” and were contacted by Erick Droegmoeller of Word is Bond management to get taken under his wing, we were just stunned, since then it’s been a legitimate whirlwind. But that’s not to say it hasn’t been a ton of work, we’ve spent countless hours on social media doing promotion, networking, just generally getting people aware that we exist and that’s all on top of writing, practicing and performing, none of us would have guessed what it would take to do this

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Tough question there’s so many good places to eat and drink in Denver if we are being honest. So if we are talking good food for sure post oak bbq, my brothers bar, Appaloosa grill, Denver biscuit co and pie hole.

Then for drinks and a good time we are hitting up milk bar/bar standard, one up, union lodge, maybe the marquis if there’s a good show that night or doing a bar crawl doing down Broadway

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We owe a massive thanks to every single person who has given us a chance along the way, now that came mean something as simple as just checking out our music, coming to a show or buying a shirt, all the way up to the bigger opportunities such as adding us to a bill like the losers club has done so often or taking a risk on signing us as Erick Droegmoeller did. Every step of this process has been filled with people who are all too willing to give us shot to do things we never imagined we might have the ability let alone the opportunity to do.
