We had the good fortune of connecting with Yuki Stauffer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yuki, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was a mother who was desperately seeking a solution to my three sons’ sometimes heart-breaking acne. I went through these trying years and experienced much of the desperation that so many other moms and dads have experienced themselves with their own children. Ultimately, I learned more than I ever thought possible, and came away with so many things that I want to share with others, and hopefully ease their own struggles with their children’s acne. The good news is that there is indeed hope for your child!

On the surface, acne would appear to affect only the skin, but in truth, it affects so many young people on an emotional level. Facial acne can prevent teens from confidently going to social events, going out in public, or even from just going to the store. Back-acne has many teens avoiding summer fun because they don’t want to take their shirts off. These are not choices we want our sons and daughters having to make. We want so much more for them! Most of all, we want them to just enjoy being young! I just wanted to help young people who are suffering from acne.

I am a big Rockies Fan. So I will definitely take him/her to Coors Field to watch a baseball game.

Steamboat Springs. I love this town in the summertime. I love going to hot springs in Colorado but Strawberry Park Hot Springs is my favorite.

My favorite restaurant is Sushi Den in Denver. Of course, I am Japanese so I love good sushi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Andy Stauffer. He is my rock. He is the owner of Stauffer & Sons Construction Company. We have been married for almost 27 years. of course, his love and support. But he has been the best in helping me build my business from the ground up. He has supported me throughout this business-building process. Without his loving support, it was not possible to get my business to grow this far.

My three older sons. They are my ideas and power source. Two of them work for IT companies and one is a mechanical engineer. Now they live in different states but whenever they are home, we discuss the next billion-dollar ideas at our dinner table. Since I focus on young acne clients, getting fresh ideas from Millennials end and Generation Z is priceless. Their encouragement has been pushing me to do greater every day.
