Without values and principles to guide you, making decisions can seem impossibly difficult. The one principle that I’ve always held above everything else throughout my career is for people to experience something I’ve worked on, and leave feeling satisfied. My goal is for them to visit a theme park attraction I’ve been a part of, and have wonderful memorable experiences of it. I value curiosity above most else. To be curious is to have an active and open relationship to the world around you. To be curious is to be humble in a sense, as a curious mindset creates a baseline understanding that one may not have all of the knowledge or awareness, making one open to what you don’t know. For me curiosity is also represents a desire to understand or to “know better”, it is the effort to try to understand that is an important value. Curiosity as a value is also about exploration, growth, and adaptation. BUT there is an important caveat  – curiosity must be paired with ethics. Curiosity for curiosity sake can lead to some dark pathways (take a look at historical medical experimentation for example).
