We had the good fortune of connecting with Ellie Rich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ellie, how do you think about risk?
I think that it all depends on the perception and level of expertise. It is always safer to take a risk if you have relevant knowledge and a proper understanding of the situation you are in and you are about to put yourself into. Information, knowledge and expertise are tremendously important if your goal is to consciously succeed instead of gambling on luck. Also, it is important to remember that risks and dangers are real and sometimes inevitable while fear is a matter of choice. It is up to us to manage our emotions and to know our potential. The more self-aware and prepared we are the less risky ‘risks’ become. I’m definitely a person who is wisely going all-in if I believe in something and if my mind is set on a certain goal. I’m always asking myself a question – What is more terrifying: to take a risk and to have a chance to make something significantly better and achieve what I want or to stay where I am, surrounded by the usual circumstances that might not be perfect? For me the answer is simple as I want to make every single day matter, every project meaningful and unique, to keep developing and be better than I was yesterday. Also, I feel that my mind is rusting in stagnation – I need work, real experiences and new, reasonable challenges, adventures to stay away from boredom. I’m blessed to have a family that shares similar ideas and values so we can always assess the risks in an effective manner and create an appropriate plan of action. Because if you want to make a change you need to act, ideally act with wisdom.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hello there! My name is Eleonora Richardson, known as Ellie Rich. I’m a Denver based photographer, specializing in Fine Art portraits, Fantasy, High-end Fashion, and Aesthetic Boudoir. My photography is not limited to these genres – I simply enjoy working on unique, complex and challenging projects that have a lot of space for creativity and require a strong skill set.

I love to give people a possibility to unleash their inner self, to experience something unusually beautiful and dreamy. Even more, I love to see their reaction when they realize that this surreal beauty is their own image, captured through my lens! It is never solely about taking photos, it is about giving my clients a possibility to experience a dream photo session that will bring to life great parts of their personalities they never knew they had. That is why I love photography! Whilst it is my main occupation that took me all over the world throughout the recent 15 years, I also work on various projects as an art director, model, fashion designer, life coach and troubleshooter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Colorado is a beautiful state all in all! One week might not be good enough… Also, it depends on the friend, as different people would have dissimilar preferences and it shall be about their desires – not mine.

I do love nature, so I would take my friend to the mountains as the views are truly spectacular. There are at least a few locations all over Colorado that I’d like them to see, from Pikes Peak to the Sand Dunes. There are some great places in Denver and around worth visiting. Especially those where you can get high quality, delicious food that you can enjoy while marvelling at the scenic mountains.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
