We had the good fortune of connecting with AJ Fountain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi AJ Fountain, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?

Our business, Stoked Ember Productions, was born from my brother and I believing that everyone has an ember, or a passion, buried inside of them. We wanted to come along and help illuminate those passions with beautiful, authentic, and compelling videos. Helping people, nonprofits and businesses stoke their embers into a roaring fire to tell the world.

So many amazing entrepreneurs have a product or service they know could truly change people’s lives in a positive way but they have no way to properly articulate their vision without meeting face to face and sharing their heart more in full. We know that video is the answer to this problem, especially when coupled with the right marketing plan. Authentic, story based video is the future for sharing ideas, solutions and passions and building relationships with your audience.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

There’s so many amazing organizations we’ve been privileged to work with in the past that I could talk about, and we weren’t the ones who built those organizations. There was someone or a group that did that work from the ground up, with a lot of labor of love.

It’s such an honor to get a glimpse into various entrepreneurs’ passions to help people when we do video work with our clients. I think our greatest strength is our ability to understand we won’t be the ones to tell their story, they will. All we have to do is be genuinely interested in what they do and their story will come through in a compelling way through film.

We always maintain a relaxed and conversational vibe on set and in turn our clients tell their stories straight from the heart, as if they were in a coffee shop sharing about their business with us.

Sharing your passion, vision, and story doesn’t have to be difficult, and we believe the key to success is authenticity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I love showing friends around the great state of Colorado. If I had a week with a best friend I’d probably split it up into three chunks. 3 days in my hometown of Fort Collins. I’m talking about breweries, soaking up some live music, trips up to Horsetooth Reservoir and the Poudre Canyon.

Next 2 days are up in Steamboat. Adventuring up to the Elk river up in North Routt county where I used to work at a dude ranch. Backcountry skiing, camping, hiking, mountain biking.

Last 2 days I would head down to BV and Salida. Catch some live music, hopefully some river time on the Arkansas, maybe some climbing.  All accompanied with plenty of good grub and brews of course.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Absolutely, so many people to shoutout.

My story starts with my parents and they never left my side, even when I ended up halfway around the world. Their marriage and support still inspires me.

The love of my life of course, Lo. She supports my dreams, no matter how crazy they seem. Doing life side by side with you brings me so much joy.

Lastly, shoutout to my brothers, from the same and different mothers. You guys make friendship the greatest adventure.
