We had the good fortune of connecting with Andea Billingsley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andea, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born In South Carolina, but Im From San Antonio, TX . As a child I spent a lot of time at my Grandparents house ( Papa &Granny) My Grandpa was a WW2 Veteran and my grandmother was a nurse so everything was really structured and we lived by a routine. My Granny loved to shop and cook. I had a really great child hood . I think being around two people who worked really hard and lived a life were they could do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted really made me want to work hard to live that same life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
MY Canvas is the everyday womens face, I love the feeling my clients get one I give them the mirror for the big reveal once im done with their face. Whats sets me apart from other artist is the fact that I genuinely love what I do , this isn’t a trend for me or something I do just for money this is my dream come true. I remember when I would spend nights when I didn’t have anything to do practicing different looks. It was a struggle especially when makeup trends are constantly changing but I had to keep focus on what I needed to do to get where im at today. Ive learned that time is money and that as a business owner you can’t let people run all over you. I would want the world to know that my brand Facesbydreaa is definitely gonna be a name to remember .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im still new to the Colorado Area but I would take them to brunch first at my favorite spot Denver Biscuit , then to some tourist areas i like Garden of the Gods , and then downtown for a little bar hoping its always fun to meet new people .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would dedicate my shoutout to my husband Marquis he really pushed my to take my dream seriously and know that I could do it and be successful . From the beginning he would let me practice different looks and products on him and even let me take pictures to show my growth and even potential clients.
