Meet Patrick Nolan | Sports Performance Coach & Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Nolan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrick, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my coaching and my facility is not my knowledge in the field or the pretty equipment or the fun drills we do. The most important factor is the connection we build with each and every person that walks through our doors. We do not care if you are an all pro NFL running back or a 4th grader that has never played a sport, you are going to get the same treatment. We are going to build a relationship with you where we then can start laying into you with our motto which is “Courage to Compete”. We want our athletes to have the courage on and off the field of play to compete at whatever lies in front of them whether that is a big game, a tough test, doing something in the community or simply asking someone out on a date. We understand that our training is bigger than just how fast you can run and how heavy you can lift. So my emphasis, my staffs emphasis and our brands emphasis is on building connections to build courageous human beings to compete!

What should our readers know about your business?
I own a sports performance gym which focuses on developing athletes of all ages from the youth levels to the professional ranks along with adult clients. Our facility focuses on group training as we have established a culture where everyone knows about everyone and regardless of what school or town you attend or live in, you are supporting the athlete working out next to you even if that is a rival high school. We jokingly state that our goal was to become the cool house on the block, where everyone wants to go to that house because of the pantry, the cool toys etc. We want our are athletes hanging out here because they gain a courageous advantage every time they step into the building.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friends are usually not visiting me sorry to say they are visiting the mountains so that is exactly what we will be doing. We will head up to the mountains depending on the season we will be going to a resort to ski (keystone is my go to), or we are going to do a hike (usually a new one selfishly). After we get our mountain fix, we will head to a sporting event whether that is an Avalanche game, Broncos or Rockies. Then we will finish the day at a brewery that has some outside games so we can compete.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would first want to thank all my athletes for believing in me! I share my vision with all my athletes as I want them to be apart of my team and that support and backing made it very easy for me to know it was a right decisions to go on my own and create my own facility. Besides my athletes, the people behind the scenes were definitely my parents who supported my decisions but also had tough discussions with me to make sure I was on the right path. Those tough conversations built the backbone of the business. My last thank you goes to one of my biggest mentors, Jeremy Boone, who not only helped my business but also helped me become a better person and build an even stronger leader in myself.
