We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Clements and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea came to me when my family and I moved to Colorado in 2014. The housing market was so competitive and I was searching for furnished month-to-month rentals that we could live in temporarily while shopping for our home. I couldn’t find any homes like this anywhere, so I created Colorado Furnished Rentals to help provide for current relocation clients, exactly what we really needed when we moved here.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our team provides beautifully furnished rentals, on a month to month basis, with everything you need, including a fully stocked kitchen. With several houses available across Northern Colorado, we can find a short term rental that will make anyone feel at home while searching for their dream home or while waiting for their new construction home to be built.

Relocating to Northern Colorado would normally be a super stressful experience, but our rentals turn it into a fun, stress free, and easy move.

We are the probably some of the only Realtors offering this much needed type of housing that solves so many problems for both our buyers and sellers.

We started out with our walk out basement of our primary home. We started hosting people there to test out the demand. When we were booked about 95% of the time, we knew we were on to something great.

We saved enough money to buy a second home. This allowed us to have three Airbnb listings. When these three spaces were also booked 95% of the time, we then knew it was time to expand big and quick.

So from July 2021 to January 2022, we expanded from 3 Airbnbs to 15 Airbnbs. And we are still 95% booked, even during the winter months.

At first it wasn’t easy, because it takes a lot of money, time, energy, and faith to set up these spaces for guests. There were times when I certainly was concerned if people would actually choose to stay with us. Fast forward to now, we have hosted nearly 700 people. We’ve met the coolest guests from all over the country, each with their own stories to share. It’s been absolutely amazing and worth every thing we had to do to make this happen.

I’ve learned to live in FAITH not fear. To dream big and make helping others be your driving force, not money. When you prioritize truly caring for others, the money comes.

I want the world to know that there is so much opportunity to help others and create a business that you are so passionate and excited about. Do what makes you excited, do what you are gifted at. Life is too short to work at a job that you hate. I love teaching others how to be successful in Airbnb and Real Estate, Please call me if you’d like to learn more!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend SUP boarding in Carter Lake, an absolute must! I’d take them on a drive to Estes Park and eat lunch somewhere along the river. There’s also so many cute gift shops and candy stores along the main road in Estes where we’d spend the day. We’d go hiking at Lily Lake as well.
We’d definitely go floating on the river in Lyons and eat sandwiches at St. Vrain Market, they literally have the best gluten free sandwiches!
We’d hike Devil’s Backbone one day and have lunch at the Pour House in Loveland.
We’d rent a convertible sports car and drive to Vail for the day!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my friend, Lorna, for introducing me to the world of Airbnb. I also want to thank my mentor, Chi, for teaching me how to be an amazing Airbnb Superhost and how to manage multiple listings and grow. I want to thank my business partner, Amanda, owner of Carolina Furnished Rentals. She taught me how to combine Airbnb with Real Estate. This was a game changer! And most importantly, I want to thank my health care provider, Amy Mihaly, for helping my family and I regain our health. Without her, we wouldn’t have the mental clarity and energy it takes to run our business. Thank you all, you have been some of the biggest blessings!
