We had the good fortune of connecting with Karina Palmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wasn’t necessarily looking to start a business at the time, I was a stay at home mom who just loved doing photography. After exclusively shooting for my family and friends, they started recommending me to their family and friends and after that I just started booking sessions more consistently. And bam here we are!

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been doing photography professionally for a little over a year now! I love to see my work improve and get better with each and every shoot that I do. It has been challenging juggling being a mom as well as pursing a career in photography, but has been so rewarding in many ways! I love the connections I’ve made with people along the way, as well as being able to provide families with memories they will cherish forever.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely Mac Nation! I’m obsessed with Mac and cheese and this restaurant makes THE BEST Mac and cheeses I’ve ever had. If you haven’t eaten there, you’re missing out!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shout out to my husband, Aidan! I wouldn’t be the photographer or mother I am today without his constant support, love, and passion to help make my dreams come true. He pushes me to put myself out there and to be the best version of myself. I truly owe my success to him!
