Meet TiaMundria Christmas | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with TiaMundria Christmas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TiaMundria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To be completely honest, I didn’t have a thought of starting my own business. For me, the word business always seemed to take the fun & light out of creating. Being a creator was something I have always felt a fire for, so I guess you can say it manifested itself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I can keep you here for days telling you about the journey of Mundriarts. Instead, I will tell you enough to continue the journey with me. Getting to where I am, although I feel like this is the beginning, was no easy process. Coming from a small town like Jackson, Mississippi, it’s hard to grasp the fact that the whole world is at your front door. It took years of creating for myself, classmates, and going out in the city creating for random people I would meet, to make even the smallest name for myself. Despite not getting the recognition, not being paid, and not being looked at as an equal creator, the answer for how I got here and how I overcame is, I kept going!
Truthfully, it may also be what sets me apart from other people. That and the authenticity I try to keep in my work. In my photography, I never believed in going to the studio JUST to have quality photos. I believe photos are for the memory and should be taken in a natural state. With my graphics, I use it as a tool to communicate the things I go through and the messages that I want to spread. I create because it’s what I love to do. I’m not trying to sell you an image. This is what sets me apart.
Most of the lessons I have learned on this journey came from a lot of failure. The biggest lesson I ever learned was to always believe in yourself. The thoughts you have, the feelings you feel, the fire that’s burning in you, it’s all happening for a reason! Believing in yourself will help you be more consistent and also help others see your potential. Every thing you go through is preparing you for your next phase.
My next and current phase, which is probably what i’m most proud of, is coming to Colorado and being able to share my story here. 3 years ago, this month actually (March), I moved here with $30. I had no intention to continuing creating, I was looking for somewhere better than where I was. I don’t know many people from where I’m from risk moving across the world like this. I took this risk with no family being here, no friends, I’d never even seen Colorado before I moved here, so this is definitely an era of my life I’m excited to see how much further will go.
As this journey continues, no matter how far it goes, I just want everyone who comes across my brand to know I kept it authentic. The day I cannot create something from the love of my heart I will quit with the biggest smile on my face.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A. week long trip with me would probably make you want to move here too, if you’re not already living here. One place I know for sure we’d go for good scenery is Ruby Hill Park. The view of the skyline is amazing from there. When it comes to food, I’m going over to Saucy’s Southern. They are normally located on Colorado Blvd., right outside of the Smoking Gun. If you want to have a good time, I’m all for a Nuggets game!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my family, first and foremost because without them there is no me. To Kayla and Corina who always believe in my dreams no matter how far fetched. Also, last but not least the biggest shoutout to ANYONE who has ever let me create for them, ever shared my work, or ever just saw it and said, “dope!” It really and truly all means so much.
