We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Rene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk is inevitable as an entrepreneur. You aren’t guaranteed anything and have to set aside a steady paycheck in hopes that you will make it happen on your own.
What should our readers know about your business?
I teach busy moms how to declutter and systemize their homes and lives so that they have more time to do what they love – instead of picking up after everyone all the time.
As a new mom to 2 – I felt like I was absolutely drowning in my own home in a sea of stuff. Over a 10 month period, I got rid of 60-70% of our household belongings and felt like I had hacked the mom system when I realized how much more peace, freedom, time and energy I had.
I knew it was important for me to start my business – but I also had two kids at home, no childcare, and not a lot of sleep.
I was determined, though, and stayed up until 2 or 3am most nights for a couple of years while I was getting things off the ground. I taught myself a lot on youtube the first year when it came to how to build an online course, how to market it, how to grow on social media – etc. – and then joined several courses/mentorships to accelerate that growth.
I learned how to run a successful business in the tiny nooks and crannies as a stay at home mom and it is my mission to help one million moms discover the life changing effects of decluttering and systemizing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would first take them up to Frisco for a few days. It is such a cute little town that has so much character, wonderful people, history – and amazing food. I would take them on a charter fishing trip with Alpine Fishing on Lake Dillon (have had the BEST experience with them!) before heading back down to Boulder where we would stay at the St. Julien and experience their spa, and have lots of meals out on pearl street!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad. He passed when I was a teenager, but he was always a dreamer and he instilled that in me. He taught me that life is too short to not go for what we want – no matter how big or crazy it seems to others.
