How do you define success?

TV, Movies, and culture in general sometimes paints a narrow, specific image of what success is, but we know from our conversations with some of the best and brightest that success can mean vastly different things to different people.

Success is an investment. An investment of time, effort and energy, education, networking, and money. When you view success as an investment it encourages a mindset long-term planning, consistent effort, and strategic allocation of resources. Read more>>

Working in human service fields, especially one’s saturated with stories of trauma & neglect, there is always this fragile relationship between my own sense of empowerment and helplessness. In my various roles (a foster & adoptive parent, a grassroots & non-profit director, a behavioral coach, a parent/child advocate), I have to remember that I control the input, not the outcome. I define success as living in alignment with my values and making a positive impact on my community. I want to be remembered as a kind and courageous person who lived an intentional life fostering connection in those around me and challenging the traditional and expected path. Read more>>
