Where you grew up and your background can often have surprising effects on our lives and careers. We’ve asked folks from the community to tell us about how their background has affected them.

I grew up in Rogers, Arkansas, an area that has grown dramatically over the last 30 years. When I was growing up, Rogers (and all of northwest Arkansas) was rural. The people were down-to-earth, hard working small town folks. My father was a mailman and my mother was a housewife.
