Every overnight success we’ve seen has been years in the making. And those overnight successes are rarely because of an amazing idea or a stroke of luck. We asked some of our favorite folks from the community about what characteristics are at the heart of their success story?
Tyler Fisher | Herbalist
I would say the most important factor about success, is taking a chance. Trying something you’ve never done. Customer service is a huge factor in success. I didn’t plan on Fisher Botanicals LLC to become a business in all reality. It grew into a business, by giving people a good price, and a quality product. I started selling kratom/ other natural alternatives to harsh medicines, like pain pills. Kratom took to the market rather quickly. Read more>>
Josh Hobs | A.k.a Activ8or , studio/performance painter, tattooer, illustrator,
I think the factor that has had the most impact on my career is authenticity. I feel that when you’re the truest version of yourself, it allows for the purest expression of your work. I’ve always been a really unique person that’s kind of paved my own way, and I think you can really see that in my work. I’m constantly trying new techniques, and taking risks in both painting and tattooing. Some are successful, and some are just stepping stones that help carry me to my next challenge. I’m on a path of the mountain goat. Read more>>

Amber Stevens | Owner Boundless, Body and Wellness, Licensed Massage Therapist and National Board-Certified Health Coach
Listening and consistently showing up! It’s really that simple. I own a wellness center in a market saturated with massage therapists, acupuncturists – any number of holistic health providers. Yet, my business has stayed successful, even during harder times, because I make it a priority to keep showing up with professionalism and compassion. I take the time to listen to what my clients want and need, without assuming it for them, and I then I deliver on exactly that. Read more>>
Andrew McAteer | Owner A. E. McAteer Design
I’ve always considered doing everything in house quite important. For me, making products is the most satisfying aspect of the business, and being sure it’s being done to a high standard is key. Being able to work a wide variety of materials and understanding their strengths and limitations helps me design new items, and sets me apart from some of my competitors. This gives me the ability to work with other companies to quickly develop new products, or make changes to old ones. It ensures orders will be delivered on time, without quality issues. Read more>>

Cesar Aldaco Ramirez | Owner of NIMBUS LLC
To some people success is a number, to others its stability, and maybe even securing a future. Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, but that definition is vague, it doesn’t have to be a large accomplishment and it doesn’t have to mean becoming rich. My success is getting to do what I love, I’m passionate about it and I’m genuinely in love with what I do. I’m in the Pokémon business, and no it wasn’t because of Logan Paul or Logic, Pokémon has been my favorite show since I was 3 years old, I’ve watched every episode from Pikachu electrocuting Ash to Ash and Pikachu defeating Leon’s Charizard and truly becoming the very best like no one ever was. Julie Reddington | Brit | Queen | Connector | Real Estate Agent Extraordinaire
I am British and moved to the US back in 2005. As I thought we would be going back after 2 years, I wanted to learn something that is done very differently in the US so I could take back to the UK to implement. Well 2 years turned in 18 years (and counted so far). Once I was licensed, the Real Estate world has so many coaches in this business, all saying the secret to success was x y z. For many years I was trying to reinvent myself into these personas which I believed would make be successful. Read more>>
