The most important lesson I have learned in my photography business is to not compare myself to others. This is such a creative field and there are so many different styles that it can be hard to not compare my work to those around me. I have changed my views from comparing my work to others to become inspired with others work. I also will reach out to peers with questions or advice on a location for a shoot or for creative ideas around a photoshoot. The most important lesson(s) I have learned in my career with martial arts is the value of patience, discipline, perseverance, and character building. Martial arts require consistent practice, dedication, and strong work ethic to improve and master the techniques. Through martial arts training, I have learned to push through challenges, stay focused on my goals and those of the team, and to never give up; even when faced with obstacles in life. For a long time, I had a “quote-a-day” calendar page taped to my desk that said, “Miracles do happen, but you have to work hard for them.” This is true to my experience. I would have to say the most important lesson I have learned from AshleyLuvsToEat is that life is not that serious! I think so many “influencers” take social media so seriously when in reality, it really is just a place to have fun and express yourself. The content that I make where I am just being myself and acting ridiculous is what always performs the best.
