We had the good fortune of connecting with Ace ofbade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ace, why did you pursue a creative career?
In March of 2020 the lockdown happened and my hours at my job were cut in half. I needed something to do to stay busy since we were all stuck inside. Content creation was something I had thought about in 2019 and realized it was time to seriously look into it. So I started streaming over on Twitch and really liked it and met a lot of great streamers and content creators doing the same thing, plus playing games is a hobby of mine. I’ve done some big events like anniversary streams and charity streams, raising money for Starlight Children’s Foundation. Then in March of 2023 I wanted to branch out a bit and start doing reaction content. I had done a little bit on my main YouTube channel, but I wanted to not only do more, but put that on its own channel. So I did that for a couple of months with some friends and then started my own reaction channel not long after.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I stream over on Twitch 3 days a week. I’m a variety streamer, playing different games and challenge runs in Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Dead by Daylight, and a variety of other games. I felt like it was a bit of a learning curve forming a community so it definitely was not easy. I learned to network and I was able to make friends. The biggest lesson I learned is not every stream will be successful. You just have to keep moving forward.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This being a smaller city, there’s not too much to do, but some great spots here are a local burger place. It’s a little mom and pop restaurant that tastes so much better than a fast food burger. There’s also a really nice park where you can walk around
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my friends who introduced me to Twitch and content creation in the first place.
