We had the good fortune of connecting with Aj Kikumoto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi AJ, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At Queen Publishing Agency, we believe that every story has the power to inspire, educate, and connect people across the world. By helping authors bring their books to life, we’re not just publishing books—we’re amplifying voices and sharing ideas that can spark change. Many of our clients are first-time authors, and we take pride in supporting them through the entire process, from concept to publication. By doing so, we help them build confidence in their storytelling, which can lead to more opportunities, like speaking engagements, workshops, and other ways they can impact their communities.
Our goal is to create a ripple effect—by helping individuals publish their books, we help them inspire others, share their knowledge, and ultimately contribute to a more educated, connected, and inspired world. It’s about making a difference, one story at a time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Queen Publishing Agency, we’re not just about getting books published—we’re about creating a personalized, supportive experience for every author we work with. What sets us apart is our hands-on approach. We really care about our clients’ visions and work closely with them to make sure their stories are told the way they want. Whether it’s a novel, a children’s book, a journal, or even a cookbook, we provide a full-service experience from editing to cover design to distribution. I think that level of care and commitment is what makes us different from others.

I’m most proud of the relationships we build with our clients and seeing their confidence grow through the publishing process. Watching someone hold their finished book for the first time, knowing we helped make that moment happen, is something I’m always excited about.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Denver and Highlands Ranch, I’d want to give them the perfect mix of city life and outdoor adventure! Here’s how I’d plan the week:

**Day 1: Downtown Denver**
We’d start in downtown Denver with breakfast at *Snooze*—their pancakes are amazing! Then, we’d head to the *Denver Art Museum* for some culture and wander around *Larimer Square* to check out the boutiques and historic vibes. For lunch, we’d hit up *The Kitchen* for some farm-to-table goodness. In the evening, we’d catch a Rockies game at *Coors Field* or go to a concert at *Red Rocks Amphitheatre*—honestly, you can’t beat that venue for live music.

**Day 2: Highlands Ranch**
We’d spend a relaxing day exploring *Highlands Ranch*. First, a hike at *Highline Canal Trail*—perfect for soaking in some Colorado nature. After that, we’d grab lunch at *Indulge Bistro & Wine Bar*, followed by a coffee at *Festive Cup Coffee & Gift Boutique*, which has such a cute, cozy vibe. Then, we’d head over to *Chatfield State Park* for paddleboarding or just chilling by the lake.

**Day 3: Mountain Adventure**
Can’t visit Colorado without getting into the mountains! We’d head to **Breckenridge** for a day of outdoor fun—hiking, maybe some paddleboarding, and strolling around the charming town. Lunch would be at **Breckenridge Brewery** before heading back to Denver in the evening. Dinner would be something casual and local like **Casa Bonita** (because you can’t miss this quirky experience).

**Day 4: Denver Adventure Day**
Today, we’d get a bit more adventurous! I’d book us a rafting trip on *Clear Creek* if it’s summer, or if it’s winter, we’d head to the mountains for some skiing or snowboarding at *Loveland Ski Area*. For dinner, we’d hit *Masters Restaurant* in Erie, which is one of my favorite spots for great food and cool atmosphere, at the Colorado National Golf Club.

**Day 5: Highlands Ranch & Littleton**
We’d start with brunch at *The Toast* in Littleton (their French toast is legendary), then explore *Hudson Gardens*—it’s a beautiful, peaceful place. For the afternoon, maybe hit up *AMC Highlands Ranch 24* for a movie, then go to *Fujiyama* for some great Hibachi.

**Day 6: Highlands Ranch Fun**
I’d take them to **Chatfield State Park** for a day of kayaking or paddleboarding, then grab lunch at **White Chocolate**. In the afternoon, we’d check out **Park Meadows Mall** for some shopping and wrap up the day with dinner at **Fogo de Chão**, a Brazilian steakhouse.

**Day 7: Spa & Chill Day**
For our last day, we’d slow down with a spa day at *The Woodhouse Day Spa* in Highlands Ranch—so relaxing! We’d grab lunch at *Sweet Green* and then spend the evening at *The Inverness Hotel*, enjoying a relaxing dinner at their restaurant.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank Crystal Swain-Bates, my mentor and instructor for the Publishing Agency Blueprint course I graduated from. She inspired me to create the agency to help others get published. Another shoutout/thank you goes to Alycia Darby, my Pageant Coach, who inspired me to write my first book, Zoey’s Great Adventures – Learns To Talk, which turned into a series. My last shoutout/thank you goes to my parents, husband, and family who have all supported me in this publishing journey.
