Meet Alan and Kim Strope: President/Construction Managament and Vice President/Interior Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alan and Kim Strope and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alan and Kim, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Being local! Our motto is “Experience the LOCAL difference”. We started Savant Homes, Inc. shortly after graduating from Colorado State University. Both Alan and I (Kim), grew up in Fort Collins. We both attended Colorado State. We had the opportunity to move out of state for work, but we realized that Fort Collins and Colorado are home to us! We decided to raise our family and our business here. It is important to us that each of our clients we work with get the satisfaction of knowing that they live in a SAVANT HOME. Our staff works directly with each client, subcontractors, bankers, mortgage brokers and realtors to make the building process not only custom to each clients’ need but the experience exciting and positive. We love when we meet a client and they say “YOU are the builder! And I get to work directly with you!” This is something that many companies both national and regional do not offer. We want to create a custom masterpiece for each client. There home will be one of the most important purchase in their lives that they will enjoy each day!

What should our readers know about your business?
“Savant” meaning “the knowledgeable one” is a word that came from our family heritage and found it describes our business and background. “Our mission is to design and build homes that exceed the customer’s expectations and satisfies the needs of the client.” Because we are a local builder it is important to us to create life-long quality homes and construction projects in Northern Colorado. We not only do custom homes and land development, but we do remodels, basement finishes, garages and light commercial construction. We feel that no project is too small or too large but rather each one is different and that is what creates the fun challenge for us. Part of our service that is included in every project is working with Kim on interior design details. “I love to stay on top of all the latest styles and trends helping homeowners create amazing spaces that represent their taste and needs in their homes.” By having this service included it sets us apart as a local builder!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is a reason Fort Collins was rated the number one city to live in the United States year after year and a reason why so many out of staters’ are starting to move here. There is so much to do here! We obviously have the amazing mountains that have an abundance of activities and beauty year-round but as locals say “We love our bikes, beers and bands.” We are a bike friendly community and Northern Colorado is also known as the Napa Valley of beers with many locally owned craft breweries including one of the largest in the country New Belgium which names many of their beers after local activities. Fat Tire is one of the most popular craft beers. Music and arts are a huge part of the local scene! You can always find a local band or musician playing daily in every type of genre. There is never a dull moment in Northern Colorado!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We defiantly have to give credit to our Savant Homes Staff! Even though we are a locally owned family business in Northern Colorado we have an amazing staff that we can credit our success to, and we would not be who we are today without them. They work so hard in making everyday a successful day for our company. They work very closely to make sure that every detail is taken care of throughout the building process for our clients so that together we create a successful company and that they are proud to represent Savant Homes, Inc.
