We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex VanLemmeren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
When it comes to flowers, everything about them makes me happy!! What I enjoy most is having the creativity to bring my clients’ individual vision to life.
I love connecting with a bride and groom and hearing how they in-vision they’re day and then being able to bring that to life.

Having a painting background, it brings me great joy playing with the color combinations, perspective, and natural textures when it comes to fresh cut flowers and greenery.

What should our readers know about your business?
I think want sets Wild Posies apart from other floral designers, is the fact that I have a Fine Art background, specifically in Painting. Having professional guidance in learning how to put color combinations together and different types of textures that play off on another is extremely valuable in the world of flowers.
I think my fine art background has helped drastically set my work apart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Depending on the time of year…but most likely doing some brewery hoping, and shopping around town in all the amazing small businesses. I’m a big outdoors person, so most likely doing some fun water or mountain activity, following it up with some delicious food!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lucy Waneka definitely needs a shoutout! First, she’s a wonderful human and a dear friend of mine. She is also the original owner and designer behind Wild Posies Floral Design. Without her guidance and support, Wild Posies and myself wouldn’t be in the position we’re in.
