We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra & Alexis Treton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexandra & Alexis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We wanted to built something of our own, we wanted to built something that looks like us and share our passion for wine. We were working for big companies in France, dealing with daily concerns for clients and it was time to work on solutions for ours. At the same time, thinking of working on Something we love and getting back to a live interaction with people was pretty inspiring.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Coming from France and from a different business industry can be challenging. Alexis was a project manager for 10 years and used to manage teams and finances. Alexandra was a International Area Manager in the food industry. Our background allowed us to have a very clear vision of our concept and how to make it happen. Of course the way to do it in the US is quite different. That’s a nice challenge to mix a French background and an American way of life. And things are even more tricky in this post COVID period. Adaptation is more than ever the key word.

Today, our main goal is to make La Bouche grows and include new things. We extended our hours of business and it’s probably gonna be something that would last during Spring and Summer at least. We want to organize more events, live musics, workshops and wine tastings. We’ll work on updating more ofetn our wine list. We are also really carefull about our staff that does the daily work. We want them feeling well here and keeping their good connections & vibes they have with our WineLovers. This is a major point when you want to bring something new. On another hand, we have to take care to our family too.  That’s a big to-do list for every single day !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Denver is an outdoor-driven city and parks are nice here. City Park is our favorite one. We also really appreciate Markets in Denver: you can find a nice mood at Milk Market and Denver Central Market and products are great. They make us think about France.
Rino is a must location to visit with all breweries and street art around.
We also enjoy the art district at Santa Fe and it’s First Friday Art Walk.
And last but not least, the Ball Arena of course! Lets go Nuggets!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all Alexis’ father gave us the urge to open our own business. Then, Denver, Alexandra’s Denverite friends, the positive growth of the city was at the origin of the vision. Finally, our urge to move forward together as a couple, as a family has driven us to take that leap of faith.

Today, like previously said, we also think of our committed staff that is a big part of this business. Running a wine bar far from home is quite a daily challenge but it’s nice knowing that you have people around you and ready to work with you.

Last but not least, hello to the French Community of Colorado that grows but that is still underrated. Its quite a nicely connected team !
