We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Bodley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexandra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I could go on and on about what I think I have done within the social media world that has helped me to be successful, but I honestly think the key factor to my success is surrounding myself around other successful entrepreneurs. What better way to get a “kick in the butt” than talking to other people who are working at bettering themselves and their business? Joining forces and brainstorming ideas with men and women who want more in their business, more in their life, and more for their future make me want to not only work harder, but become more successful. I recommend every entrepreneur should link arms with others to network, connect, and help each other out. Before I started, DNVR Media and New2townDenver, I did not have that type of community in my life and now that I do, I don’t ever take that for granted.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I had this crazy idea to sell everything my family and I had, jump in a Uhaul, and move to Colorado from Atlanta, it changed me. I don’t know if it is the altitude, the amazing people in this city, or leaving Atlanta behind, but something in me woke up. New2townDenver was born from an idea that popped into my mind while sitting in my car waiting for my babies to wake up. “Why cant I find all the awesome stuff in Denver in one place?” Hello New2townDenver. New2townDenver is your “one stop shop” for the best of the best of Denver. Happy Hours, foodie fantasy, and all the events coming up at your fingertips. We had to pivot A LOT, ( thanks COVID) on the original shout outs planned to help the small local restaurants get some traction, but we are back on track with our original scheduled programming. After a couple of months of quick success with New2townDenver, I was approached by multiple brands and businesses about who managed our social media.. my answer always the same, “me.” DNVR. Media does what we know best, making your business successful on social media. To my surprise, DNVR. Media EXPLODED! Not surprised by my success, but surprised in how many people are believing in me. It is a feeling of such gratitude, but also many hours on the computer and phone working my tail off and I could not love it any more. I think great businesses happen with a small idea that grows and that is what I did. I am so proud of DNVR. Media and New2townDenver, because I have gotten to genuinely help people grow their business on social media, whether it is a shout out on our page for New2townDenver or social media management on DNVR. Media. Growing something from scratch is never easy, I have had to learn a lot, very quickly and all during a pandemic, but being able to grow a team, start a successful company, and do it all in a short amount time is so rewarding. The most important lesson I have learned is to ask for help. Help where I need it even if its asking my husband to pour me another glass of wine, while I finish emails! I am so excited to see where we go next, our next clients, our next partnerships, and our next ( and first) brick and mortar office!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, if this question was not MADE for me, I don’t know what is!? I love planning a Colorado tour guide trip for my friends and when they do come visit- we have the best time. Brunch comes first, I love Denver Biscuit Company for the look on out of towners faces when they see their food arrive at the table! Annette at Stanley Marketplace has a killer brunch too and you feel like you are out of the country for just a sip or two and a great cup of coffee and pastry at Devils Food on S. Gaylord is a great brunch bite! Day drinking in RiNo for a brewery hop is a must following a local hike and going from patio to patio in The Highlands while you people watch is a great afternoon to do! Happy hour is the best hour of the day- head to 54 Thirty for the city views, Adrift Tiki on Broadway is super fun, Union Station hop and happy hour at Stoic and Genuine is a good spot, and The Dairy Block is a great happy hour to close. Dinner is important, so head to Senor Bear, Sushi Den, Avanti, Mercantile, Safta, or Cart Driver to close with a bang, BUT Denver’s foodie scene is hot so you cant go wrong with a lot! I love taking a quick day trip to Boulder to show them the Foothills and also to Grand Lake to rent a pontoon boat for the afternoon. With amazing hikes so close, pick one a little farther from Denver so you miss the crowds and bring lunch with you from Lou’s Italian for a half way pick me up. Denver local tours puts on a fun, yet fascinating tour of the city which is great to show people around and of course there are always the cheap seats for a Rockies Game!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If this was my Grammy’s speech, the music would be playing and I would be getting cut off, because the list is LONG. My first thought goes directly to my husband, because without him I honestly could not do anything I do now. Balancing daddy daycare, so I can shoot off to events and meetings while he is still working is now his new norm and always being my number one cheerleader in all my crazy ideas helps push me. In my business world, I have been so blessed to be surrounded by MANY women who are just crazy cool and kick butt rockstars like: the women behind, The Collective, Alexandria Reed ( a terrific business bestie) and all my clients who believe in what I am doing! With out them, what I am doing doesn’t matter.
