We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Alba and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Southwest Littleton Colorado, so native and proud ! I am a passionate and determined person and I think I get a lot of that from my upbringing. I was taught anything worth having takes hard work. At a young age not only did I witness my parents going through dental school at the same time, but with 3 kids under the age of 8. They were the first married couple who graduated from there school so seeing that just set such a good example from the start that you can have a beautiful family, and still be successful in life!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me a part from others is 8 1/2 years ago I was in a wheelchair, once I began to learn how to walk again I decided I will never waste a minute of my life turning down opportunities or not taking risks for a greater reward. I am a full thoroughbred when it comes to being a workhorse and its my determination and perseverance that sets me a part from others. How I got to where I am today professionally wasn’t easy I worked in numerous salons and barbershops for me to then realized what I really wanted was to create a salon known for great hair and a beautiful environment! I always say im not a boss im just a leader and wants to have a team who is even more successful than I am!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my girlfriend was in town I would start with a visit to my salon Muse Modern Salon. I would give her a glass of champagne, a collagen eye mask and a beautiful blowout so we can hit the town. Downtown is such a fun place to be when someone comes in from out of state so I would definitely show her the charm of Larimer Square and catch a flight of champagne at corridor 44. Dinner at El Five would of course be on the menu because that view is stunning, then drive scooters to my favorite place Welton room where they have the best handcrafted cocktails in Denver! A lot of people like to visit Colorado for the outdoors so we would head to hanging lake because the views are stunning and the hike is very easy. Once you hike hanging lake you have to visit a hot spring so we would definitely soak in the Iron Mountain Hotsprings in Glenwood while we have drinks and face the views of the Colorado river. Brunch is my all time favorite thing to do so catching brunch the next day and heading over to Colorado helli-ops where they do helicopter tours over Denver is the best way to see it all! Catching a concert at redrocks and tailgating with all of our friends would be the next best thing to enjoy while someone is in town, there is nothing like a concert than being at redrocks! to end the trip I would have a bbq at our house while we hottub and fire pit in the evening to relax and end a fun filled week!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my loving husband for always encouraging me to dream big and helping me follow those dreams.
