We had the good fortune of connecting with Alison Levin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alison, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Preserving your family history is an amazing way to honor your legacy from generations past for future generations. It shows where you come from, how relatives lived and where, and how your family has grown to today. Each photo evokes memories of a time period that has passed and loved ones that are no longer with us. These are powerful feelings of pride that deserve recognition and conservation. To look at it this way enables us to see the value of each image in a new way and not as just a “bunch of stuff”
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Ambrosia Archiving is not just a company that digitizes photos. Many companies offer these services, but what sets us apart is our background in preservation best practices and our commitment to helping clients honor their family legacy.
We understand that going through generations of images can be an overwhelming task, and we find people saying: “I have all of these photos and don’t want to throw them away, but don’t know what to do with them”. Our approach is to view each project as a third party unconnected to the sentimental items but also embracing the value and importance of preserving timeless memories. We understand that each family has unique stories to tell and share with relatives and friends – we want to simplify that process for our clients and provide the best restoration and preservation services possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start at Angelo’s on 6th for a fun and relaxing happy hour that is the best in the city and then make my way over to Don’s Mixed Drinks – a dive bar landmark.
The Denver Art Museum has a unique and amazing collection of international art; and, with the restoration of the Martin Building built by Gio Ponti, a new experience has been added as well as a place for lunch.
Red Rocks is a year-round destination for hiking, viewing, lunch, and especially music. Their museum showcases decades of bands who have played.
Seeing our sports teams in play is always fun – especially when the weather is warm and the Rockies are in full swing at Coors Field.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Tisa Roberts was my enneagram and life consultant – she was the person who encouraged me to think outside the corporate career and start something that I would enjoy doing and that could help others.
