We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Goodall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I pursued an artistic career because I’ve always been drawn to creation that’s rooted in care. For me, artistry isn’t about self-expression alone — it’s about connection, intuition, and transformation. I’ve been fascinated by the way small, intentional choices can completely change how something feels, functions, and is received.
Skin became my medium because it lives at the intersection of science and art. It requires technical knowledge, yes, but also presence, sensitivity, and trust. Every face tells a story, and no two treatments should ever be the same. I’m inspired by the process of observing, listening, and responding — allowing the work to unfold rather than forcing an outcome.
What ultimately drew me to this path is the quiet power of helping someone feel more at home in themselves. That moment when a client relaxes, feels seen, and leaves more confident than when they arrived — that’s where the art lives.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business was built slowly and intentionally, which is one of the things that sets it apart. Skin + Chamomile is rooted in the belief that skin health isn’t about quick fixes or trends — it’s about understanding, consistency, and care. I blend clinical knowledge with a deeply holistic lens, allowing space for both science and intuition to guide the work. Every treatment, recommendation, and conversation is personalized because no two people — or skins — are the same.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Many come to me after feeling overwhelmed, dismissed, or frustrated by their skin. Being able to restore not just skin health, but confidence and clarity, is incredibly meaningful. I’m especially excited about expanding my work in corrective care and acne education, including programs for teens and families, because education creates empowerment that lasts far beyond the treatment room.
Getting to where I am today was not easy. There were seasons of doubt, financial strain, and moments where I questioned whether taking a slower, more intentional path was the “right” way. The industry often rewards speed and spectacle, and choosing depth over volume required patience and resilience. I overcame those challenges by staying rooted in my values, continuing my education, and listening closely — to my clients, my intuition, and the lessons that came with each setback.
Along the way, I’ve learned that sustainable success comes from alignment, not hustle. That boundaries are a form of care. And that confidence is built through consistency, not comparison. The greatest lesson has been trusting myself enough to evolve — allowing my business to grow as my skills, knowledge, and perspective deepen.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s a safe, thoughtful space. A place where skin is treated with respect, the person is seen as a whole, and results are achieved through integrity rather than pressure. My story isn’t one of overnight success — it’s one of devotion, learning, and choosing to build something that feels true. And that, to me, is the most meaningful kind of success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d keep us mostly in the Highlands and West Highlands — slow mornings with coffee at Little Owl Coffee or Huckleberry Roasters, long walks through the neighborhood and around Sloan’s Lake Park, an afternoon stroll over the Highland Bridge for skyline views, and easy, soulful dinners at Root Down, Spuntino, or Bar Dough — the kind of week that’s less about checking boxes and more about feeling grounded, connected, and at home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate my shoutout to the people who quietly held space for me long before I fully understood what I was building — mentors who modeled integrity, clients who trusted me before I trusted myself, and the women in my life who reminded me that intuition is not something to override, but something to refine.
I’m especially grateful for the educators and practitioners who taught me that true mastery isn’t about doing more, but about listening better — to the skin, to the body, and to the person in front of you. Their guidance helped shape not just my skill set, but my philosophy.
And finally, my family deserves a great deal of credit. Their steady encouragement and belief gave me permission to grow at my own pace and to build a career that reflects who I am, not just what I do. None of this exists in isolation — it’s the result of community, support, and shared trust, and I carry that with me in everything I create.
