Hi Amber, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
Leaving my full-time job to start my own organization.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a poet and spoken word artist, using my story of overcoming blindness to bring light to issues faced by women, people of color, and people with disabilities.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Coffee and Doughnuts at Parlor Doughnuts on Lincoln
a couple hours at the Botanic Gardens
Lunch at Watercourse Foods
a nap
evening comedy club or slam poetry
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother for making me feel like could do anything and encouraging me on tough days, wule celebrating me on the good ones!
