Meet Mollie Cavanaugh | Pilates Instructor and Studio Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mollie Cavanaugh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mollie, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The Pilates system of exercise has been around for nearly 100 years! It was originally named Contrology by the creator, Joseph Pilates. Unlike many other forms of exercise that come and go, Pilates is not a fad. The slow, controlled movements really teach you how to move your body, not be at the mercy of it. Classical Pilates is still taught today just as Joseph created it. At Club Pilates, we teach a more contemporary style. This allows us to be available to a more diverse community and teach functional movement that you can take with you through out your day. I love that this form of exercise is perfect for any age, shape and fitness level! I’ve always been interested in fitness and my dream job was to be a fitness instructor. When I found Pilates, I found my calling and I am so blessed to be able to share its amazing benefits with so many people.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My husband and I joined the Club Pilates franchise family in November 2017. While going through the process of opening our first studio, I started my 500 hours Pilates Instructor training. With 2 little kids at home, it was hectic to say the least! I was able to start teaching at our first location when we opened in February 2019. Our second location opened in July of 2019. I am so proud of the Club Pilates brand! The system we offer is unparalleled. We have small group classes that use traditional Pilates equipment and fusion classes that incorporate other forms of movement that compliment Pilates. Our instructors come from many different backgrounds and teaching styles. I love the variety! I love the challenge of the work and I love the team we have created! My most favorite part about being an instructor and studio owner is hearing our members success stories. From rehabilitation to improving their quality of life, I see the power of what we do everyday!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest, I am a bit of a homebody! But there is so much to explore in the Denver area. I love day trips to Red Rocks Amphitheater for a hike or to watch an amazing concert in the fresh air. You can’t beat the view of the city or the night sky from the beautiful venue. I also love walks or bike rides along the Platte River where we can hop off the path for lunch at Breckenridge Brewery or Angelo’s Italian Restaurant. There are so many great places to eat for dinner. I love to visit the Downtown Littleton area to eat at Grande Station or Smokin Fins. Although I do not ski myself, a daytrip to one of our beautiful mountain towns is always fun. There is plenty of shopping and places to eat in Breckenridge or Vail.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother in law, Beth Cavanaugh. I am beyond blessed to have such an amazing woman in my life. Beth and her husband Kevin started Ken Caryl Glass over 35 years ago. They have grown to be the largest glass company in Colorado! I worked at the glass shop for 13 years before opening our Club Pilates studios and becoming an Instructor. Beth has been my mentor in business and life and a huge part of our success today.
