We had the good fortune of connecting with Ambray Ochoa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ambray, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think the most important factor behind my success is my clientele. When I first started out I had no clientele, which meant no business. Now I have a consistent and reputable clientele that promotes my business. Establishing a genuine rapport with your clients is crucial to your success!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the proud owner of AmBerries Handcrafted Treats! My business started with a little Mother’s Day Gift idea for my family but quickly grew into a one stop shop for party and event needs. I started with just chocolate dipped strawberries and treats, to candied fruit, then custom cakes, now to full event set ups and we even have bounce houses! It has definitely been a bumpy road. A lot of trial and error, sleepless nights, and just leaps of faith! I guess if there’s one thing I would suggest to anyone facing obstacles, if you can’t fix the issue right then and there, don’t stress about it. Take things one thing at a time and slowwww down!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man, well we are a family of six ages 1-12 so we are always on the go! As a family we love the mountains. The Rocky Mountain National Park or even just a quick drive up to Boulder is always beautiful. We love exploring little mountain towns and trying to find local hidden gems! We love a good BBQ spot! I do remember an amazing BBQ place in Aspen, Aspen Hickory House. When we’re home in northern colorado our favorite is Big Buttz BBQ based out of Greeley. We’re pretty spontaneous, just jump in the car and see where we end up and see what we can find!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God’s always first! However, like before, my clients and just word of mouth are what really keep me busy! I have two woman in particular, Monica and Cassandra, that have really supported me through this journey. They are returning clients as well as giving countless referrals. Those two woman alone are rockstars! Honestly though so many people, just anyone who has purchased from my business, even just shared a post, or referred me to a friend. The smallest things make the biggest difference.
