Meet Amy Bluestar | Elopement Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Bluestar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was raised in the mountains, surrounded by stunning landscapes that fueled my passion for exploration and the outdoors. From an early age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that was unconventional, and my love for photography led me to pursue formal education in the field. Combining my appreciation for nature with my enthusiasm for photography, I began specializing in adventurous elopements. Growing up in such a picturesque environment has deepened my connection to the beauty of the world around us, and I take great pride in incorporating that sense of place into my work.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I take great pride in forming genuine connections with my couples, not only delivering beautiful photographs but also fostering lasting friendships throughout the process. As an elopement photographer, I recognize the significance of my role—being the sole witness to a couple’s intimate love story as it unfolds. This responsibility drives my commitment to capturing their journey in the most authentic and extraordinary way possible!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I’m out and about, I’m often accompanied by my pup, and I enjoy exploring pet-friendly activities such as visiting the beautiful local parks or stopping by pet-friendly restaurants and bars, like Colorado Campfire.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe much of my journey to the unwavering love and support of my family and friends, who encouraged me to pursue my dreams. It’s all too common for individuals to settle into their careers without following their true passions, but I was fortunate to be inspired by incredible mentors and supporters who pushed me to look beyond my own limitations and strive for more than I ever thought possible!
